Brown has 2 years left to halt the slide of his party. Can he do it? He will no doubt offer the voter some sweetners and false promises...remember the referendum vote folks? He renaged on that one big time as most do not want it. He knows that too which is why we will not get a vote.

Well, a businessman on Friday was given leave by the high Court to pursue a Judicial Review on the Commissar's decision - he won't like that, will he! How many apparent suicides can the Government machine cover up I wonder? (shades of poor Dr David Kelly and the WMD debacle come to mind)

They are mostly all the same...promise one thing, and then not deliver. I just think Labour have become stale and that is when change is needed, and the Tories seem at the moment to be "fit for purpose".

The art of politics is persuade people that, whilst you have done nothing, you have actually achieved a great deal.
Commissar Gordy's current mantra is Listen and Lead. Jumping Jack Straw has now entered the fray to convince us that Labour can still go on to win a historic fourth term in Government despite their drubbing in the local elections.
He arrogantly claims that the people will forget that Labour has taken away the lowest rate of tax, hitting the poorest hardest and that they will all come trooping back to return the Commissar when the next General Election is held (likely to be 2010, the last possible moment).
Let's all make sure they don't ever forget; Government is by consent, the people have expressed their dissent in droves so perhaps the Commissar should listen and lead us into a General Election at the first possible opportunity.

And..... why should I (in principle) as an Englishmanbe ruled by a government consisting mostly of Scots... cool 8-)

but no united kingdom government is going to be truely representative...it is always going to be a case of swings and roundabouts
for example.. the last time the tories were in power would you care to guess just how many MP's they had in scotland..... the answer would be zero....
for example.. the last time the tories were in power would you care to guess just how many MP's they had in wales..... the answer would be zero....

And there we have it biggrin Scotland has a Scottish parliament(responsible for running Scotland)
Wales has the Welsh assembly(responsible for running Wales)
Wasn't it Labour who created these divisions in the forst place?

yes they did..I have no problems with devolving money to locals when they can spend it better...
The Scottish Parliament was created by the Scotland Act 1998 of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (Westminster Parliament). This act sets out the matters still dealt with at Westminster, referred to as reserved matters, including defence, international relations, fiscal and economic policy, drugs law, broadcasting and some others. The competence of the Scottish Parliament to legislate ("legislative competence") on a matter is largely determined by whether it is reserved or not.
Anything not listed as a specific reserved matter in the Scotland Act is automatically devolved to Scotland, including health, education, local government, Scots Law and all other issues.
I have no problems with allowing this kind of regional assembly.....
oh and by the way....... back to your original point of a government overtun with scots....
23 cabinet positions...... 3 run by scots... Alistar darling (Chancellor) Des Browne (Defence) and the dear old prime minister himself.......
Fabio I am gonna have to give this one a miss tonight(more important things to attend to) But you are spinning things(typical labour manouvre)
What about the old rogue Michael Martin(speaker)lining his pocket but who can blame him 8- He sees his colleagues doing it so another pig in the trough.
Only three things are certain in politics:
You get elected;
You get your nose as far in the trough as you can for personal gain;
You leave office (usually in one of a variety of different ways, some more entertaining than others).
