Ladies - a Personal Question

redface surprisedops: Ladies I have a rather delicate question to ask and wonder if you are able to offer any advice.
I always practice safe sex and find that I get irritation and soreness for several days afterwards. I have attributed it to the use of condoms and although I have tried several different well known brands, I always find that it is the same result, whatever colour, flavour, texture they are :!:
Have any of you suffered anything similar to this? If so, which brand can be used without the unwanted side effects?
I have tried using the usual lubricants before sex, in the hope that it would protect my skin, but sadly it does not. It takes the enjoyment out of it a little, knowing that you wil be sore afterwards

Hi,
Could you possibly have a slight allergy to the condoms? Perhaps a latex-free might help?
Sappho xxx
I'm no lady - but I think I can answer your question.!!!!
Most condoms are made of latex and quite a few women are sensitive to it in the nether regions. There are a number of Hypoallergenic and Latex Free condoms on the market. Durex make one called Avanti - which is latex free.
We know a few of our friends who have the same problem - tried every lube etc and still got irritation. Changed to a different condom and the problems either stopped or were dramatically reduced.
Hope it helps

have you thought it might be thrush.
easily cured with cream from the chemist.
the symtons you describe you have, really really sound like thrush. which gets agravated every time you have sex.
you can also get it on your tongue, so be carefull.

Thank you to Sappho and Fred for your advice, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I knew there was an alternative to latex condoms but didn't know what it was, or the name of it. I'll be off to the chemist tomorrow to get some.
Any offers to help me do a test run with them? wink
Thanks also for the advice about Thrush. I know it's not that because I only get it when I've had sex with condoms. Never get it at any other times. Besides a recent visit to the 'Well Woman' clinic showed nothing unusual

Hi,
Not sure if I should reply to this as it is a little embarrassing, but hell, here we go........
.....I am not sure if this superlube is available at all Chemists as the LGBT community are supplied gratis with condoms and lube at most of the venues, clubs and bars in the Manchester Village, they are freely available on most bar tops and hotel reception areas. I never get a skin reaction when I use that particular product. Phew redface .
I don't think you have anything to blush about Judy, I'm just gutted that the rest of the community don't view safe sex so sensibly! I find it very annoying when the "urge" strikes on a night out and the only condoms available are the cheap-and-nasty-but-still-very-expensive-bound-to-give-you-a-rash variety, usually in daft colours and flavours. And that's IF the machine in the toilets works instead of just stealing your money and laughing (and I always imagine it giggling and saying to me "Ha, thought you were getting a shag tonight? Think again hussy!")
And Red, I used to have the same problem, but haven't noticed it recently, and I get mine free from the local family planning clinic! (At least partly because vending machines are so unreliable and expensive)

Hi,
I now try to remove that lube and replace it with a lubricant from "Pasante Healthcare" known as "TLC" which is a silky water based superlube with a pH balanced moisturiser. I never get a skin reaction when I use that particular product. Phew redface .

No need to feel embarrassed Judy and thank you for your advice. I have 'Googled' for Pasante Healthcare and found their web site. All their products can be ordered on line, so I'm off to place an order. Hope it doesn't arrive in one of those clear plastic bag type packages surprisedops:
