Er, correct me if I'm wrong but hardcore porn mags are now available from the top shelf in newsagents that care to stock such material. This is because of a European ruling that says it IS YOUR RIGHT to view such material as it is an expression of human sexuality. I think it matters not whether the material comes from the USA or within the EU. I'm sure that I have seen European publications being sold sold in newsagents since this law was passed.

That's 90% correct. Actually the ruling was about free trade though. European pornographers used the EU's fair trade laws to stop the British Government from banning porn that is legal in Europe coming over here too. It's the same law that stops the British Governement from banning the import of foregn cars to boost our motor industry. It's still Illegal to print this kind of stuff in Britain, so while you might occasionally see magazines like "British Hardcore" they are actually printed abroad under the guise of being specialist magazines for European Anglophiles (yeah right!) and then imported here. It comes down to the British government only being allowed to control things printed in Britain.
Things are a bit "Carry on Shagging" here though aren't they - seems we can't shake off that seaside postcard,"Confessions of a Window Cleaner" mentallity.
I suppose I'd better get down my local greengrocers now for a nice pair.I believe the lady there has some ripe juicy melons as well .
OO-ER MISSUS!!!! Come and get yer juicy melons, lovely and ripe and juicy fnar fnar!! That's a nice 'pear' there missus! It's like walking through the market with a low cut top on lol

Many thanks for clarifying that ruling. Had no idea you couldn't publish hardcore in this country, still. Seems a bit silly when you can by the stuff eveywhere, now. I know a lot of porn is filmed in this country, such as the 'Ben Dover' series. Is it still illegal to make a porn film in this country I wonder? No doubt it is still illegal to manufacture DVD's and videos with hardcore content then?

I'm not as well read in this area, but I believe the situation is that it's technically illegal, but the same EU restraint of trade ruling could probably be used to overturn any conviction, after a long and public series of trials.
The Govt. don't want to be seen as pro-porn, or anti European, but they would have to pick one side or the other if this became a big news story, which is why no one gets prosecuted for it.
