I have been given an oldish laptop and isn't wireless I have a wireless router is it possible to run it off the router, or do I need to buy a network card thanks P xxx

If it has an RJ45 port you can connect it straight to the router with an CAT 5 cable. If you want to go the wireless way then a 54 Mbps Wireless USB LAN Adapter Dongle wouldbe the way to go. they are pretty cheap and cheerful.
It would then be just a case of configuring the dongle to find the router, which should be explained in the contents that came with the dongle, hopefully.

If you don't want to use the wireless facility, get one of these
if you do want it to be wireless, get one of these (as long as have USB connectors on the laptop)

Thanks for the advice I bought a Belkin wireless adapter for £20 from Comet and online now with it thanks again x
