And as for providing acedemice references...no I cant but then if you re read my initial post correctly, you will fnd I was asking about peoples experiences...you turned it into an acedemic exercise.
Maybe you saw a chance to flex your academic muscle?

So, you asked about people's experiences, and you got answers, very well reasoned ones too. I questioned your initial source of reference. You could not provide any such references. Therefore, what is there more to add..... apart from, please give me something more meaty to flex my academic muscles on next time. Thank you.

rats do not come close to touching on the complexities of human nature.

But there are a few humans that seem to have the complexities of rats. lol

There is literature published in academic journals that has assessed people's attitudes towards sexuality. This literature suggests that (heterosexual) people are more positive towards gay men and lesbians if they believe that homosexuality or bisexuality is "born" not "chosen". People tend to be more negative if they believe that a gay man or lesbian is choosing their lifestyle -- ie that they could be straight if they really made the effort confused . People tend to be more negative towards bisexuals as they think that bisexuals can choose by the very definition that they are attracted to their opposite sex.

 I think that is very much the way society percieves anyone who isn't hetrosexual. By that I mean the people that are closed minded etc.... I know what I want to say but cant think of how to bluddy put it
As for do we choose or is it down to our genes, well its not a matter of were we born with it or did we choose, it's more a case of who/what you fancy... You either fancy a person or you dont.

I remembered this question arising years ago, I asked people on here who had been through the experience of discovering their sexual orientation.

How could you have asked this question years ago when you joined less than a month ago? confused :?
