ohh, and there was i, waiting at the ice cream van to buy the poor soul an ice lolly!!!! well, it was the only licking he was going to get!!
the art of conversation just seems to elude some folk. Kids these days want it all on a plate and no waiting! rolleyes
Damn it,did i miss a public hanging??
I watched this thread develop last night and I think that upfotout was being fairly hard done to.
Sure, he made a crass first post but those are the sort of posts that could be left with 87 views and no replies and left to die a natural death. He could have possibly learned from this experience and gone on to join in the forum with a more sensible attitude.
However, he immediately had the piss ripped out of him. This was followed by some good advice but by then the damage had been done and he was in self destruct mode.
If you read back over this thread, did his initial post deserve a ban? If it did, virtually every other poster in lets meet up or dogging deserves a ban. Was he banned because of his retaliation. If that was the reason I think it was unfair because initially he was quite severely provoked?
The forum is often likened to a pub. "Would you walk into a new pub and make a comment like that." has been said many times. Turn it on its head...if someone came into your pub and said something slightly out of order would you immediately rip into him? Or would you just ignore him, or even try to clarify what he meant?
Maybe as a forum we need to think about how we react to a poor first post. If it is completely offensive then take the piss but if it is merely a shite post then either ignore it or offer constructive advice. If someone does not take good advice and continues to post poorly then they do run the risk of becoming a legitimate target for a piss-take but to do it straight away does not seem to go with the friendly attitude that so many on this forum pride themselves with.

Hi Ric
There is a lot of merit in what you say. However, as you said, he was in self destruct mode. Once he was in that downward spiral there was only going to be one outcome.
Had he accepted straight away that he had got off to a bad start he would still be here now.
If I ran that pub you mentioned and some young lad came in for the first time and began upsetting the regulars then I would have no hesitation in asking him to leave.
The facility exists for anyone that has been banned to email us here an put their case forward. He is welcome to do that and we would reconsider his ban.
Northwest-cpl - you probably didn't see the several shite posts that I removed from Meet Up and Dogging made by this tosser last night. The one that triggered this debate was about the best of a bad lot and I left it to give him a fair chance. People tried to help him, but he continued to be a tosser. He was given a chance but he failed dismally. If I had have kept the other shite he posted you would have seen what a timewaster he was. Do you think we enjoy sitting at our PCs dealing with juveniles like him? No we don't, but if we allowed this shit to stay on the board I'm sure plenty of people would complain... see we can't win can we!

whatever . fuck knows what i need to do here,
i dont know

Err HELLO .........you do what I and every other decent newbi does.......sit back. listen and read whats going on. Then join in with something interesting to say. Instead of your already verbal crap sad . You'll just get a bad name for yourself, or haven't you learned to intergrate with people yet.
Sorry to be so blunt but hell mate just be nice heh biggrin
northwest-cpl
on principal, i agree with you completely. most of us do try to be welcoming, and work on the principal that you try and advise them and help them get a feel for the place, and give them enough rope to hang themselves. he didn't need that much!
it's just bloody silly season the last few weeks, and it's wearing a bit thin. and i think you can often tell from a first post those who've actually read up a bit, and know what this place is, and want to be part of what we have here, and those who come here thinking they're gonna get fucked silly cos it's a swinging site, and troll the members to death with crass pm's and posts like that one. they still generally get a welcome regardless, and we hope they see the error of their ways, but you can't help some people regardless. they just don't wanna know.
i guess some regs are tired of it, and some regs are so tired of it they're barely posting because of it. i hate trotting the line that the forums crap at tbe mo cos it just seems arrogant, but jesus the last coupla weeks have been full of TTT&Ts ((( tm jags 2004 )))
patience, and the welcome for that kind of post, is maybe wearing thin. and i for one would hate to see any kind of closing of ranks, but i fully understand why that might be case.
neil x x x ;)
Bluddy well said Neil!
Northwest-cpl, I can totally see where you're coming from too. People do seem to get a raw deal sometimes.
But I can't be bothered to try to encourage some people when they haven't done any sort of research on the site. The absolute minimum someone shoud do, just out of common courtesy is read back over some threads. They will at least then see how other people post, how they interract etc.
I think it's pretty rude of people to type a couple of one line threads and ask this ridiculous stuff. Then they usually top it off after 3 or 4 crap threads, by writing a new thread on how cliquey we all are and how noone talks to them rolleyes
My patience is wearing extremely thin with them ..... and likely to get worse on the build up to PMT day confused . I can't be bothered with nice stuff when all they do is ask what I see is a blatently rude question - no hi, or hope you don't mind me asking, or why they're asking, they just ask ........... so people now just tell. Why should we be polite and explain absolutely everything to them, when all they need to do is click a few buttons and find out for themselves.
Why these idiots come to a swinging site to learn stuff is beyond me. This is a swingers site, if people want to meet then they want to meet likeminded people. People with the same sort of outlook and wants - that will give them a good time as well as give a good time. I certainly wouldn't want to waste my time and babysitters on someone that just wanted a free 'guaranteed' (that's what they presume anyway) shag or someone who hasn't got a clue, isn't willing to just explore and enjoy, but has to ask stupid questions, which would probably spill from the forums to an actual meet. Nothing worse than someone keep blummin saying 'is this alright' 'is that ok' 'am I doing it ok' 'was it good for you'.......... I want someone that genuinely loves sex, loves the whole sesual finding your own way exploration of someone new, not someone who just fancies a fuck!!!! Or someone that wants lessons on how to do it, too cold and clinical for me, no fun at all!!!!!
If we let every idiot stay and keep putting up posts, believe me, the forums would be flooded. Sure they will sink quickly, but they will soon be replaced by another load, either by the same person or someone else.
When I first started this modding thing, the biggest shock to me was just how many of these idiots there are. Both in the forums - and in the photo ads, which has a much higher turnover of traffic. It really is quite mad some days.
I'm sorry if people do think we are too harsh sometimes, but please take a look at the whole picture ..... and make allowances for us as well as the idiots. biggrin
Sorry I've gone and bluddy rambled again redface
I'll get me coat (tm Warwick)..........
biggrin Corse the knock-on effect of silly posts like that is that it does cause some very interesting and sensible replies, which does give us (relative) newbies a good chance to get to know the regulars, and moderators-- every clot has a silver lining eh?

Seconded. I pm-ed him but far too late as it happens.
In response to the provocation point, ok hands up I did it... It is the first time the 'bloody stupid' brigade have got to me, and I snapped. Maybe he didn't deserve a broadside, maybe he did.
I did try to provide an update on my position when he responded (surprised me that he did) and over the next few posts offered as many ways out of escalating the situation as I could, but he (or she, didnt look) wasn't interested, and proceeded to insult anyone who got near, including a mod.
In the end they got banned, maybe he will come back a little more on this planet. I would be happy for him to get a second bite at the pie, but in a new name, but that between the mods him.

sorry, take it you was never new on this site?

New yes... acting like a plum? , no.
Read over your first entry again my friend.... then have a think.. If you could re-post it what would you do different? confused I then think, if a woman was to post what you had posted what would you be thinking of her?
