*Unapologetically girly, shallow and self-obsessed thread alert: opt out and don't read as you see fit* wink
Lip gloss: recommendations please!
I want to treat myself to a new lipgloss and fear I am stuck comfortably in a MAC Lipglass rut.
I would like something which lasts in a subtle but still noticeable shade which I can wear every day for work or whatever.
It's a treat... so I can splash out a little.
:rose:
Let me get me Lip Gloss World mag out and flick through a few pages and...........
........I really haven't got a clue. But I do like the shimmery effect it has on a womans lips
Dave_Notts
i always use Rimmel ..... very kissable lips xx
Katies special lipgloss is very subtle confused :? lol
Clarins. I'm not a great fan of lip gloss... my hair sticks to it and that's gross but the Clarins one isn't too sticky! :sticky:

That happens to me too - I thought I was just deficiently girly! Will try some Clarins ...
For every day Clarins lip perfecter rocks!

As for Anias suggestion.....one of the ones you can go for is:
Just don't give anyone a BJ with it on! :lol2:
Sadly I don't kiss enough ladies to have the response to this on the tip of my tongue .
My loin feel( that's similar to gut feel only hornier)is that I would prefer non glossed lips to kiss.
However in the interests of market research I am willing to kiss endless amounts of ladies with and without lip gloss on!
...thats lip gloss on the ladies I mean lol
I never wear lip gloss Nicey............so I will volunteer as the non lip gloss sample...purely in the interests of market research of course!;-)
This is Sara btw !!
I think as I've got older I wear less and less make-up. Instead of lippy, these days I'm favouring this stuff:

It tastes nice, it's good for your lips, keeps em nice and soft and it gives the same shine that lip gloss does without that gross lippy sort of sticky way!

Yep... they're my speciality! :smug:
Think I'll have a look at the Clarins one tomorrow and then failing that, it'll be a MAC splurge.
Maybe I'll have one of those anyway. :giggle:
I have some lipgloss and lipstick, I prefer the shade and colour of lipstick more, but lipgloss is usually more subtle in colour and gives a shine you don't get with lipstick. I prefer Rimmel London products generally smile That said I haven't tried too many others, but I'm always happy with rimmel, and their lipsticks often have a moisturising effect too.
I've just found an amazing MAC makeup artist! I've never really used their stuff but hear so much good stuff about it that I might have to treat myself to a trip to my local MAC counter.
If you don't like the clarins ones (they're quite neutral) and are treating yourself try chanel, they used to do some glosses that were slightly thicker and more pigmented (is that a word?) so have more colour and more staying power than a normal gloss.

MAC are brilliant - if you are ever over this way visit their shop in Liverpool. It is the biggest in the UK I think.
In fact, we should go and have our faces 'done' with our rollers in one day and send FB the pic for a giggle!
Actually, I've used the Chanel lipglosses too - I love the pinky clear one but of late I'm not loving the colours.
Sounds like a plan.....shame I was in Liverpool today although I don't know how I'd have explained a trip to the MAC shop to Easy :lol2: Next time I'm over I'll have to go smile

By all accounts MAC are one of the best employers around.
I like maybelline superstay - its a lipstain one end and a gloss the other - colour stays all day - the maxfactor one is good too - not to expensive at superdrug!

Hi Sara ...so glad it wasn't Graham lol I'd love to to have you as my base line I must warn you, however, that I may have to take many samples from you to ensure there is no significant standard deviation in the the control point .
I hope my sampling technique is a lot sexier than it sounds
Lips are puckered up and at the ready
