Lottery win

As most of us head off to work today, with another boring week ahead of us, have you ever dreamt about how things would change if you won the lottery?
If say you won the jackpot and won £ 2 million plus, would it change your life completely or would you still go to work and live in the same house?
Would you " splash the cash " and if so what would be the first thing you would buy?
I have seen people win the lottery only to stay in their little house and maybe upgrade to a slightly better car. I cannot see why they enter the lottery as for me I would think it would change my life big time. When those people fill out their ticket, why do it if you have no intention of it changing your life for the better. I am of course talking gadgets not partners. lol
I think the first thing I would look for is a nice shiny new car, followed by a fleet of expensive motorbikes. Of course then a nice new villa somewhere abroad to keep them all at.
Mrs777 sayys the first thing she would do is to go on a masive shopping spree and get a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes in every colour.
So if you have dreamt of winning the lottery have you thought how you would spend it, and if so what on? What would be your first big purchase?
Lots and lots of shiny gadgety type things.
A big house to put em all in.
25 burlesque bridesmaids at my beck and call. (The list for volunteers is open by the way :rascal: )
Sorted.
biggrin
if it was the £2m end i'd probably stop where i am for a while, buy a new car (well, a camper van maybe), have a holiday, buy my parents a new car and a holiday and then invest the rest.
If it was a few mill more then i'd buy a new house and pay this one off, giving it to my sister, maybe buy somewhere in the florida keys as my parents like it out there, so my dad could retire and they can spend the winter away in the sun. Then for the fun stuff, i think i'd learn to fly, copters and planes and maybe buy myself an ex works touring car and enter the BTCC as a privateer......shit, i need to buy a ticket this weekend
In one word...TRAVEL.........I just love travel. yea I would buy a better house and maybe a half decent motor....but I wouldn't be here for many days to see it..I would be away finding new places I haven't yet seen. would love to go to the Amazon rainforest for example....would love to get to see souith Africa...oh the list is endless if the money was !!

That'll be me too- invest some for the sprogs, and give them a roomy comfortable home (with a swimming pool innocent) to live in whilst at school (and a jacuzzi) and every spare moment (did I mention the pool table?) would be spent trotting the globe.
If the sum was vast, I'd buy a square rigger to play on :bounce:
(Did I mention the home cinema?)
Oh, and my MGB roadster in old English white with wire wheels & chrome bumpers.
All I'd want is a new house, car, boarding school for the kids :P and a few foreign holidays. Loads of new underwear, shoes and bags rolleyes .
I would hit the world, do all those things you can get to old for, clime Everest, no to dam high, but I would take a walk around foot hills. Take in South America, may be the antarctic. I have not been there. Then just roam. At sometime I would find my way back to Britain, there are some people I would like to visit. I know W would give me time off, have spent 24 7 with me for a world trip or two, she will have gotten sick of me by then.
Then may be some treats for a favoured few, and a big munch some where grand.
For 2 million i would probably buy the home im in now do some renovations buy a car (oh and pass my test)
Get my son some extra tuition to help with him school work
Have a holiday or 2 (or maybe one big holiday)
2 million isnt really enough to set you up for life you couldnt have a higher style of living and live on it for very long without working to top it up
But if i won say 10 million + I would buy a few properties and rent them out so you still have a monthly income, buy myself some old house in near nowhere put some money towards a wind turbine and solar panels for my house for the price of fuel it can only be an investment buy a campervan/caravan for those touring holidays but if i won that much money i doubt i would live in the UK
If it was 2 million we’d stick it in a high interest savings account, and live easily off the £7000 per month interest, no point spending the money when the interest alone will cover a good lifestyle and mortgage repayments.
Winning anything over the 2 million, we would probably do the same.

id pay for some of the people to go on holiday who lost out when xl collapsed.
If I won the £100 million euro lotto this week ,I would put £30 to it and pay off my debt lol
I would leave the U.K, it's rubbish.
Last year (2007), I was luck enough to spend time in Barbados visting my extended family.
What really changed my life wasn't the beach but the people of Barbados.
In a nutshell....they had respect for the nation & each other.
So if I got them 6 numbers on the lottery, am leaving the U.K for a better place.
It might not be Barbados but just another country where people have respect, no dog mess / rubbish everywhere & you feel safe.
It doesn't even have to be warm just a nice place to raise a Family, not like here in my view.
I've had a few friends that have just become Parents here in the U.K. Am sorry for them & the future of their Children.
Is it me or are things getting worse the more that we have confused:
Respect & manners are going.

You dont need a lottery win to leave. People emigrate all the time.
I cant cope with all the moaning people do about the country, the government etc etc. If people dont like the way of life here why dont they get off their moaning asses n do something about it rolleyes

Oooh, the old "if I won the lottery" question...
Yes, I would buy a pair (or three!) of shoes. But mostly I would pay off my debt then do what Deviants said. Whack it in a high interest account and live off that.
I would stay at work. I've just changed careers so I would want to keep that going. Money in the bank would just give me options to have decent holidays and treat my family and friends. I'd also be able to donate more to the causes I support.
Eeeeh, if only!

Exactly, and trite figures of speech do not cut it in the real world.
id splash half a million on a year-long holiday/piss up/orgy of vice......
id stay in top hotels/villas, eat good food, go to fantastic clubs and drive round in the best cars.
i would put 5ook in an account for my daughters education and wedding.
i would leave the other million on deposit earning high interest....
after a year i might decide to take it easy or go away again for another year of fun.

I have empathy for those who havent the tools or know how to help themselves. Its my job ffs. Its the ones who moan for moanings sake that piss me off.
By the way, it dont wash with me, I wont rise to you like some here do flipa smackbottom
Maybe I should buy an extra ticket on Sat as I feel lucky. lol
But money can't buy you love and I already have that, but a nice MV Augusta motorbike would be nice.
It would be lovely to wake up and not have to go into work, but if I want to keep the nice things I have, I have to work. But I would sell the business if a nice buyer came along. cool Not having to work would be the best of all.
There's only one thing money can't buy...
...poverty!
first thing we would do is a fab holiday on a beautifull island whilst we decided what to do next
then when we got home buy a house with a wonderfull view and a drive so we can finally park outside our home
then a morgan aero8 for me and a ferrari for me b
them a salon of my dreams
lets hope its a big win eh lol
would like to help out family too where needed and treat them all to some time in the sun also
think it might need to b the big win on the euro millions at this rate

What you need to emigrate is money.
Can't just fly to let's say Canada, then arrive & say can you help me please... confused
A person cannot do anything by themselves in the U.K, why.
A person could show-up the 'powers that be' & therefore you don't get the support you need.
Then you are dependent on the same type of people that will not help you in the first place.
You'll only get help if the politicians look good & what you are campaigning for does not in any way show them up.
Am 31 & the type of place that the U.K was before I was born sounds better in some ways.
People had respect & values.
No going on Public Transport & getting worried due to yet another person smoking a spliff.
