"what's love got to do with it, what's love but a secondary emotion"..... Don't ask me to sing it ;-).
People may say i have led a sad life (in terms of love) but i have never loved in a way my mates tell me they do with their partners. A lot of people say they have love and it's ever-lasting once you meet the right person - then after some time they split up hrmmm. Also, I have always been told if you love your partner you would never share them with anyone else. This does not appear to be the case with swinging as there is love here and sharing so it's all very confusing.
What my heart tells me - I think love is about respecting someone, caring for them, having that je ne sais quoi feeling you can't explain, having many things in common etc etc. My head tells me that its a secondary emotion.
Please, i am not judging here and would love your views on this.

Hi Noladreams, i thought i was in love once but looking back it was infatuation.
I think that to discuss love within swinging relationships is both simple and complex... but I wouldn't really know, being single.
I'm sure there will be a coupley type along soon enough to give you their take on it.

What is love? as Haddaway asked not quite so memorably.
"Love is all around" answered the Wets, which was very nice sentiment but didn't really get to the point of the initial question.
"Love in an Elevator" sang Aerosmith, before adding a suggestive "Going Down" which isn't really about love, but sex, but they are American's and frightfully dim at times, if rather good rockers for a bunch of old chaps.
"All you need is love" said the Beatles, but not a lot of people do need love really. Many don't. A change of name may have been in order but "All you need is casual sex with a variety of acquaintances of either sex" didn't quite have the same ring to it.
ABC sang about the "Look of Love" which is probably somewhere between Bonnie Langford and the cafe scene in When Harry Met Sally. Is that really what it is all about?
John Lennon said it best.
"Love is knowing we can be."
Pedants may argue it is a little vague, but extrapolate away from that central view and you find that all the many and varied strands that form the whimsical notion of love are encompassed within...
...well... Apart from the kind of "spank me on the botty bitch and make me beg" kind of love. That's more your Brotherhood of Man or St Winifreds School Choir domain.
Hi Sandybeach1, i think you have something special there. Am very happy for you both and thanks for the input.

AHHH love!
You can't quantify it, define it or explain it.
It makes no sense , can last a minute or a lifetime .
Just enjoy it if you find it xxxxx
Hey Nola, that blew me away also :-). I think i am going to write those defintions down ;-).
I'm very wary of being destroyed cos all sorts of bad shit can happen like be ill, lose job, turn to alcohol etc etc.
"better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" - not sure who said this but i don't believe it. If i aint loved then i don't know what i am missing and can get on with enjoying life cos it can all so easily go pear shaped - i see it all the time.

"Love" is a really rather splendid piece of music put together by The Cult (previously: Death Cult and The Southern Death Cult)
You should check it out if you are unaware of this piece.
