I went to work late this morning and as a result caught a superb program on Radio 4. Joan Bakewell is considering the 8 deadly sins. (I'll come back to that 8.) This morning was LUST and these wonderful intellectuals including an ex-nun quite simply expressed the whole Swinging Heaven philosphy. They talked about giving and getting pleasure, the history and folly of prudishness, oh, loads of great stuff. And concluded unanimously that Lust is not a Sin. Catch the replay on before it goes. It's called Midsummer Sins.
Oh yes - the eighth sin? Liisteners are invited to nominate one which will be discussed in the final program. Now how about that for a SH thread!

I nominate intolerance. Of religion, lifestyle, culture, and other differences that shouldn't set people against each other, but usually do.

Nice one Ice. I spotted that too, and chose `indifference`, primarily the attitude in some circles that a good education is for those who are `stuck up` and that they are too `ard to apply any interest to anything. mad
It makes me sick.

8th deadly sin ?
How about all that presentational spinning that politicians do , you know it is lying , but it's such a well crafted lie that they have another lie ready to prove it isn't a lie.
If only they put as much effort into running the hospitals we would all live to 105 .
Anyway . If this is going to be the 8th , and we can lust without being denounced from the pulpit from now on, that means we need a new one to rpelace lust , so thats 2 we can choose
