A couple of months ago I put a link on here to Madame Butterfly, Malcom McClaren. I have loved it since the 1980's and still get tingles when I hear it. I was saddened to see he has died of cancer at 64. Far too young. So for those of you who dont't know this one of his songs here you go:
Yes, I heard yesterday that he had died.
Of course, we had the joys of the Sex Pistols via McClaren, under rated in many way... over rated in others.
But I think the energy of that period, the dynamism was very much helped along by McClaren partnership with Viviene Westwood.
God Save the Queen

We had an announcer on "Smooth Radio" this morning who must be dyslectic as he said that McLaren had died aged 46. At least he lived to 64, that's more than can be said for some in the pop music business.
Plim
Now we'll never know the truth
The truth is always out there, it just changes every day ......
Jesus Christ was a sausage.
Sad to hear that news though personally I thought he was a self obsessed knob
I'm with Sassy on this, though I liked that song he did, 'Something's Jumping in my Shirt' - and 'Madame Butterfly' was good, too.
I just don't buy that whole 'I invented punk rock' thing he insisted on doing. People are talking as if there would be no alternative scene at all if it weren't for him, and it's the same people who two days ago didn't like him because he encouraged Sid down that self destruction route because it looked cool and made a good story.
Still, it's sad when someone so unique dies, and my viewpoint is well clouded by stuff I have read over the years, most of which is probably untrue. He was certainly one of those great English eccentrics we do so well.
just goes to show what a dumb blonde i can be, i thought he was something to do with F1 racing :-(
I still want to know who's version is true.....opportunistic,amusing,wanker McLaren or talented, amusing, wanker Lydon
punk rocks' very own Derek and Clive
