The scenario:-
Woke up this morning, went for the usual shower & shave, only to find the razor blades had gone blunt - search for replacement blades - none in the house. Looks for electric razor only to find the dammed things lost its charge. Today's excuse will have to be 'designer stubble' lol
Women do it all the time, some men wax their backs / chests / legs etc - so why not a facial wax for blokes..??
Has anyone ever tried it? Or, is this a waxing step 'too far'confused:
I don't have enough facial hair to wax but I do believe that women do top lip waxing. However, I'd imagine the facial hair on a female is way softer than the facial hair on a male... not sure I'd relish the prospect of having to yank a beard off a bloke in the same way that I relished waxing a bloke's back! Now that is the definition of satisfying!
I have seen a mans sideboards waxed for charity---it was not a pretty sight.
Black men suffer from beard shaving because curly facial hairs have a tendency to ingrow. Depilatory creams and powders are marketed to avoid the problem. I use one such on my dibbler zone because it is gentler than the products marketed widely for legs n pits.
Mens beards are too deeply rooted i would guess. The hairs are much thicker and coarser than anywhere else. I would imagine it would be far too painful and probably quite damaging too. Lasering might work though.

now i deliberately used the word sideboards rather than sideburns cos I thought some faial hair fetishist would correct the latter.

I bought a waxing kit, for a more conventional use. It specifically says not to use it on male facial hair.
Having given it some thought, I think the main problem is that the follicles are that much closer together, meaning that you'll have to pull that much harder, which will hurt that much more. If you're prepared to tolerate the pain (or if you think you'll enjoy it) then perhaps it's worth a shot.
Another problem is the redness that you can get on your skin after waxing larger areas. It only lasts for a few hours, but you don't really want to go out of the house with your face looking like a baboon's backside. It really doesn't matter how red your nether regions are as long as you're not showing them to anyone.
Finally, there's the no.1 pitfall of waxing; you have to let it grow back to around 5mm before you're able to wax again. So while you'll probably spend a week (or maybe two) completely smooth, you'll be sporting a lot more than designer stubble by the time it's long enough to wax again.
I get fed up of shaving too.
I "overheard" someone in the chatrooms talking about Carsons Magic cream. It's a depilatory cream for use on blokes faces. I tried it out and it does work though I have to say I've had mixed results so far. Apparently it's been in use in the states for years as it's used by black guys who get get severe razor burn. I got mine off ebay. Of course the downside of this is that you can run out of it too.
I'd consider lasering if the price was right ( what's it gonna cost me in time and razors the traditional way ) considering it's a one off treatment. Plus I'd want to see someone who'd done it first lol.
It's not guarenteed to be a one off treatment. It significantly reduces hair growth thats for sure, but not always altogether. They used to call it permanant but they cant any more because its not always. It is damned expensive though. Im not sure even a lifetime of razors would recover that cost!

yeah but it's not just about the cost, you sexy ladies know that surely, Time is money eh ! I'd be ready for the boudoir much faster :rascal: I'd also be even smoother all of the time
I'd have it done tomorrow if i could afford it!
