Hey!! Mars has gone pro carnivore! As from this month the Producers are using animal products in the chocs to reduce costs. The vegeatable equivalent used in the product is more costly.
But it's going to be ok you vegetarian snack bar junkies. If you have purchased a favourite sweetie treat then you rest assured in the knowledge that if you have purchased a 'changed' recipe bar and feel you cant now eat it then it's ok return it and you will be given your money back.
Oh and if you think to change your bar for a different sort then keep in mind :-
Snickers, Galaxy, Twix, Bounty, Milky Way, Maltesers and Minstrels - are also affected.

not that I ever checked, but several thousand years ago, in my mid-teens, I heard that Mars used to fund certain vivisectors, never mind the content of thier sweet confection!!!

They say that the products concerned marked with "best before" dates before 1 October 2007 are still okay. Time will soon run out though. :cry:

Even McVities chocolate digestives have beef gelatine in them. dunno
Sadly in this day and age if you want to be 100% vegetarian you need to live solely on fesh fruit and veg!

I watched a documentary about orangatangs. The biggest threat to these creatures is de-forestation. sad The forests are cut down to farm palm oil which is used (I understand) to replace animal fats in food etc. So by choosing a vegatarian option we are directly threatening their habitat and existance. :(
I am now reviewing my dietary options. Looks like a catch 22 to me :( :(
Eat animal fat or contribute to the extinction of orangatangs

Plus the fact that the locals like to eat thier brains and cant see how a primate of any kind is any more human like than a dog. dunno

so many posts about meaty mars bars!! just heard on the radio that mars have scraped the idea...aparently there was a public backlash (maybe the CO of mars is a member of SH)..
