Medical question - cold allergies

Can anyone help me please?
Just lately, I've developed a weird reaction to my hands and feet when they are extremely cold!.. it starts with itching and then the whold hand goes red and then white itchy spots appear, this then starts burning and the same thing happens on my feet. When I warm up it disappears.
I've been told it could be something called "Raines/Raynes/Rayner syndrome" something like that but I have not heard of this. Also someone else mentioned cold allergies.
Has anyone had a similar experience and/or heard of the above syndrome?

Hi Jaymar
I think its called Reynard's Syndrome. But I'm not sure of the spelling. It is a problem with circulation. I can't offer advice but I have friends who suffer as well. If you have learnt anything can you pass it on. biggrin

Um yes.. but I needed to have something more concrete to go on before going to see him. This only happens when my hands are extremely cold so if I'm to go to the doctors and it's not showing... what do I say? how can I show him? that's why I asked the very nice people in here first. rolleyes

Thanks Keeno, Redfox gave me a link above which you could pass on to your friend, I've found it very helpful and it's all falling into place. I have carpal tunnel anyway and it seems to me this could be the start of something more, I'll have to go to Docs me thinks! lol
Also sounds like it could quite possibly be chilblains. Heres a quick link but theres loads out there on the net

Not all conditions will present the same and even doctors some times struggle to give a firm diagnosis.
I would say best go get checked out, even if for nothing other than to put your mind at ease that it isnt something serious. The mind plays a large role in health and wellbeing and self diagnosis can seriously stress the mind lol .

Jay i would say its defanatly not Reynard's as with raynards it would effect all extramities and they would turn white or blue and you would have corresponding pain i would agree with nick and say its chillblaines what ever you do dont scratch the area or white spots cause this will cause it to get worse

Thanks Felix, the more I've been reading up on both the more I'm inclined to be thinking it's chillblains. I don't have the going blue bit and I'm sorry but I've been scratching!.. it's toooo itchy! I promise I'll try and stop.
I've made an appointment now thanks everyone wink
