Just tried to change our membership type from 'male' to 'couple' ('cos that's what we is). but get an error saying that a connection to 3Bill was refused and, to rub it in, when I tried to make a connection myself I got a message saying that my IP address had been logged for investigation. Seems a bit harsh as I was only trying to get our account set up right. Anyone else had a similar problem? Do we have to pay to be a couple nowadays?
Your have to mail admin and ask them to change it for you
Babe I've just done the same thing.
When the site changed over I made the mistake of registering as a fem coz I am !!!! but I am the fem half of a couple........... so I PM'd Admin to ask them to change it.(Monday)
Tonight I tried to change my status to a couple and the only way I can do it is to pay

Thanks for comments so far. Have sent a grovelling (I hope) PM to admin to see whether they'll change us into a couple (phtoomph!) - Will post the outcome here.
We have introduced this charge to ensure people only do it for genuine reasons for instance men pretending to be females or couples. If we did not charge, I think that we will have people swapping accounts a few times a day to suite their needs.
If the account is under 7 days old, we will be able to change it free of charge.
It is there to ensure the overview integrity of the site and provide the best service to the members.

This is the normal problem
MOST people when they register register as either a Man, Woman, or Couple. Lets be frank here some men want to register as women, a few couples each want their own account and some of the Gay or TV users of the site might register as to how they mentally feel rather than what anatomy they have. etc etc.
If anyone on the site registers themselves wrongly when they register we will change it for them free of charge (within 7 days). Within a week if you are a man registered as a woman and have posted an Ad it is obvious when you get a lot of mail from men thinking you are a woman that something is wrong!.
These are the reasons behind the charging
1. We are having a couples only room in the chatroom, as soon as this goes live we expect a number of Single males try to change there IDs to get in.
2. At the moment a chat Op has to sit in this room kicking all the single men out
3. It has been known that in order to get better responses from ads that SOME not very many but SOME men change there settings to couples then turn up for meets making an excuse as to why the wife could not come.
4. If people have generally been happy all the time with the wrong membership type then generally those people probably would not want to change them now anyway.
As for any money we raise on these changes the plans were to put some back into the community. Maybe helping out financially on a few munches etc, but again as we have seen that offends some peeps as well.
There will always be exceptions though ie there are those that plan an active part in making SH what it is, so there will be exceptions on occasions ;)

I have tried to change my account to a couple for the same reason as mentioned by blondie. when I joined i just wanted to register and get a feel for the site. at that time there was no mention of the site changing to a paying site, quite the opposite in fact.
so i registered as a single. By the time i had got to know a few people and my wife had been assured that it wasn't full of perverts just after a quick shag, the site had changed.
I think that anyone who was registered before the changover should be allowed at least one upgrade before being judged and cast as some trying to exploit the site.
I am glad that blondie has been upgraded free of charge. but I dont agree with one rule for one and onother rule for others.
I like this site. I think it is still the best even compared to free sites. but I do believe that this need to be sorted fairly with the same conditions for all members
