Ok Folks here's one for you.
What things or thing bring back the most happiest memories or memory.
I.e Music, sounds, smell? object?
And lets stick with the good and happy memories eh, the world is a bi*ch of a place as it is without telling everyone your bad memories. lol
Just now I seem to be seeing a wee yellow car everywhere I go and it brings back some happy memories of a friend I once had...
But I think music brings back the most happiest memories in my life.
Ok folks it's over to you.........

"Bridge over Troubled Water" reminds me of a fantastic holiday in Paris many years ago..
the smell of "Ferrari black" reminds me of Bart.. esp when i first met him..

i love the smell of fresh cut grass, it reminds me of summer as a kid and the carefreeness of it all.
i love the smell of brut, reminds me of my first and only (so far) love. bittesweet memories.
xxx fem xxxx
10cc's I'm Not In Love always reminds me of a girl I was madly in love with at school.
redface
My Dad died when I was 22, and 12 years on when I open up his old 'baccy tin ( which I painted his name on as a kid) the smell takes me right back.....sitting on his knee on a saturday morning, writing out his bets for him while he rolled his Old Holbourn.
Ah, my wholesome youth!
Will You by Hazel O'Connor.....takes me back to when I was 14 and in love for the first time. We still talk on the phone every few weeks (on the sly), after getting back in touch about 6 years ago but purely as friends now.
I love the sight of my white cotton sheets on the line. They always remind of when I first had my son and used to hang up his nappies and the sheets after a boil wash. I was always so proud of how white I got them. The smell of my washing now will take me back to when I used to let the sheets float over him and 'find' him under them by 'sniffing him out'
Now he is a teenager I know I don't have him at home for long so I am busy hanging onto these memories so I don't attempt to say goodbye to him when he leaves with me clamped around his ankle sobbing. rolleyes
splendid
Oooh this is a good one! lol
Amarige perfume.. bleugh, reminds me of morning sickness!
Lavender perfume/oil, reminds me of my Grandma who's sadly not with us anymore
Home cooking smells, reminds me of when I was a little girl, the one day off my Mam had was a Wednesday and she baked, I used to race home 'cos it was great to see her open the front door and the smell just wafted out..
And Christmas smells, any absolutely to do with Christmas. Each year when we get dec's from loft reminds me of the year before, the year before that etc.,... pine smells, mulled wine.. aaw I'm getting really sentimental now wink
Strange you mention that... Most things hold memories and especially music for me..
Tracks from the 80's etc most have a memory that plays in my mind when they play.. not just the obvious like what we were doing but things like where we were who we were with the weather etc.. Strange eh!
Certain smells too.. put you in a time and a place long since forgotten.

I have been there and done that and it is sooo difficult not to do exactly that
There is a pot pourri smell that can take me right back to when I was first with Stormy as I used to put it in the ashtray of my ford fiesta as my ex had always smoked in the car. It makes me feel as horny as hell
There is a shower gel I used just after having my youngest that makes my heart want to burst.
One of Avon's range of bath gel and cream does the same for me as I used it when I first got home from hospital after having my daughter.
For my eldest son who is 19 I used infacare and again it gives me the same feelings and memories.
Don't get me started on songs I'll be here all night but The Devinals "I touch Myself" is our song wink

Freshly mown grass .... mmmmm springtime! Evrything's fresh and new and the world seems so much nicer.
Lenor used to remind me of an ex from years back. It doesn't smell the same it used to now but when I'm in the supermarket, I have a terrible habit of opening all the bottles and sniffing them anyway!
Leather jackets mixed with cigarette smoke. A guy I had a major crush on many moons ago reeked of this. I smell it on someone else and it takes me back to one night we hung out together and ended up lying on a beach watching the sunrise. Nothing ever happened, he saw me as a mate, i s'pose.
You don't see them much these days, but I love the smell of babies plastic pants - takes me back 30 years.
And, I love poppies. I grew up in a really dirty, dusty neglected are of the town, at the back of our entry was an abandoned building site where we used to play.
One day we could see something red in the distance, and when we got closer we were amazed to see it was a poppy. We couldn't believe something so beautiful could grow in all the decay.
Crazy For You by Madonna. Reminds me of getting ready for a youth club disco when I was 12 and hoping that I would see Mr S there. I did - the rest is history smile

the dancy version of stay another day by east 17
reminds me of an all night school charity disco i went to aged 12 a boy i fancied danced with me during the song then asked me out at the end :bounce: and we spent the rest of the night in a dark corner doing passionkiss i went home on cloud 9 :inlove:
When I hear Rod Stewarts Maggie May I always think of my sisters hen party.
We went to Cinderella Rockerfella's in Leeds and I was the youngest of the bunch. All the girls were eyeing up this bloke who was really trendy. You know the type,'i love me who do you love?' oxford bags and blazer, all in fashion then
They were all dancing as close as they could get to him and he walked off! He came to me, asked me if I wanted a drink and dance and the others were gobsmacked! Shame I had to decline, never been into 'trendies'. It was my first proper grown up girls night out, a night I'll never forget
I had to think about this, odd, no? It is smells, just a hint and back I go, but try to think what they are, it's a brick wall.
Thyme and mint. Thyme for a fab holiday in the Med and mint for a girl by a river.
...and I have just remembered hay.....
Every now and then, very very occasionally on a hot dry summers day, carried on a gentle breeze I get a whiff that is so striking it transports me instantly back to the two years I spent living in Saudi, happy days :inlove:
Also that winters day when you step out the door and can smell that first hint of snow, takes me back to my childhood living in the snow covered mountains of northern Germany.
I think the difference with smells, as opposed to sounds or pictures is that they seem to be so much more evocative and produce much more vivid images, works for me anyway dunno
