For some guys when they read "gay woman" or "lesbian" there is some kind of chemical reaction and the message is received by the brain as:

I was out at a club on Friday... and I was approached by a man who wanted tell me that he thought I was gorgeous- which is always nice to hear. I thanked him and introduced him to one of the women that I am enjoying sexual relations with at the mo.
He looked shocked and told me that I couldn't be gay as he fancied me.......

the trouble is they watch porn films where two women, supposedly gay, are joined by a man and suddenly have a change of heart!
I have some very close, non swinging friends, who are gay, which is why this makes me laugh so much. One of them has just written her dissertation on the 'lesbian gaze'. Most of the lesbian portrayal in the media, from magazines to porn, is not done for the benifit of other gay women, it is done for men.

well it seems to me to be rather unfair in that if one is in a relationship be that male/female or male/male female/female it is ok to advertise for a 3rd person or couple of any sort, yet if one is on their own it is looked on (if one is male) that anything other than gay male or hetrosexual female is ! I agree its irritating to get a pm from those that don't read YOUR ad but what harm is it to profile ones self ? I am sure that there are Bi gay couples that would seek a swinger of the oppsite sex, but again how does one put it if I as a single male is placing the ad ?

I think you've missed the point - why would a single male think that a fem/fem couple (ie gay) would be interested in him, unless that's what they advertised for?

What we're trying to say here is why would a gay female (not straight, not Bi) want to meet men?
Men seem to understand that:
straight women have sex with men
straight men have sex with women
Bi women have sex with men and women
Bi men have sex with men and women
Gay men have sex with only men
But then
Gay women have sex only with other women just doesn't sink in rolleyes

Surely if a female couple are looking for a male they are a bi couple and not gay?

To be honest, I don't recall ever seeing a gay female couple looking for a male. If they were to advertise, maybe they'd still be gay but possibly 'bi-curious' ? Please, if you're a gay couple (male or female) don't read anything offensive in that - none is intended.

I don't know ! people are not all the same. For whatever reason a gay male may suddenly decide to swing with a female or a hetrosexual couple may want a bi male/female ? My own ad for example is what I seek and I agree that a pm from those that clearly have not understood MY ad are a pain, but that is not to say that I would reply to YOUR ad as it is not what I want.

Yes ! but I know gay (and happy to be so) men who seek a female in their relationship for whatever reason , but a single male could not say that he was Bi if he was seeking a female lesbian ! I don't know why a man would want a lesbian relationship but then as i say. how does one best discribe such a request in an ad. Clearly there is not going to be much milage in it anyway , but if that is their preference and they don't pm other ads that clearly state preferences then what is the problem?

If I were in a gay relationship and my male partner wanted to do exactly the same things to a female as he would do to me then he would be Bi. I however am not, I am gay.! . Its wrong to assume that just because one is male in gender, that there should be any reason for me to want to use my organ on a female and why could not a lesbian in the role of a "male" not be allowed to penetrate me in exactly the same way as she would her female partner if she wanted to ?
