It might interest some of you. I have just spent the last two hours investigating why the latest, December 2006, version of the Live Messenger ( MSN messenger to those who dont know what i am talking about ), keeps crashing out.
I have 3 different machines running various operating systems, XP SP2 included. There is a definate problem with the latest version and I wouldnt recommend anyone who has a working version 8 or earlier, upgrade to this 8.1 version. The annoying fact is it works on two machines and not on another. It is throwing a Windows Protection error when it tries to open the Windows Live Site upon logging on.
Stay with your versions and earlier.
The other annoying fact - 8.0.x is not a beta yet 8.1 which MS inform you is a newer version and upgrade, when the upgrade takes place end up displaying the Beta logo.
Looks like another crap Micorosft upgrade.
This ruined some of my chat sessions this pm.
