Midsummer and the turn of the year

It's the Summer Solstice on Saturday. Longest day of the year, and the shortest night (oddly enough).
Are you doing anything to celebrate this significant day of the year? Should it be a national celebration?
What about the Winter Solstice - which is 'best'?
I'm doing something just not decided what yet. Although I'm not planning to dance naked around a bonfire in the garden - for a change biggrin

hmmm im not gunna like this year longest day of the year babysitting a toddler from hell who is fighting for independance but cant tell you that yet :cry: :cry:

Oh dear - mine went through that stage - very hard on both adult and child.
The temptation is to ply with sweets but that just makes things 10 times worse :shock: :shock:
