HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sitting here in the middle of a migraine attack. It started about 1pm and its now 3:10pm
I took 4 ibruprofen tabs when I first felt it coming on and have not long taken Imigran recovery. I'm typing this slowly as the pc screen isso bright to look at.
I feel dizzy, sick and the pain is all down on side of me head and neck. I can harldy move am very sensitive to light. My nose is streaming, I am in so much pain it's driving me mad.
I used to suffer bad attack but have been clear for nealry 3 years, then the weekend beore last on the Sat night they started nothing till Friday last week, since then I've had a fuzzy head. I've tried going to bed for a lie down, I've tried to keep busy but I just cant seem to get away from the pain.
Has anyone got any good suggestions as to how to get rid of this horrendous pain that I'm in??
(((HUGS)))))
:upset:
Feel sorry for you but the only advice I would give, apart from what you have taken, is to turn off the puter. A bright flickering screen will do you no good.
Repetative Eye Strain. ??
Thats the best I can do.
Phredd.
I take migraleve, draw the curtains and get into bed. I try to sleep through the worst of it, specially till the sicky feeling has gone.
Massive hugs :therethere: :therethere: :therethere: :therethere:
The only way I can get rid of mine is to sleep through it, as hard as that can be.

try some of these
i used to be very sceptical about them
but i've tried 'em and they work for me

alternatively as you probably can't be bothered to go to the shops, get a cool damp flannel, put it on your forehead and sleep it off.
Unfortunately as everyone has put already, sleep is the best answer.
Hope you feel better soon
errrrr.....
decapitation?

water and exercise can prevent migrainne attacks.
ooohhhh who's mentioning drugs on these forums! biggrin :D :D :D

You're more than welcome to join me in the sick bay hunni :therethere:
I agree with the sleep thing. It's the only way I get rid of them. A nice dark room or an eye mask if you have one ( I'd be lost without mine trying to sleep during the daytime ) and rest.
One of my neck massages would do you the world of good too but I'm poorly too so can;t help tonight I'm afraid. I'll pop over one evening and treat you though wink
I hate migraines sad If I take some pills early enough I can control the pain - but I cannot control the sickness and I hate that :(
Anyway - Hope you are feeling much better now smile
A dark room and sleep helps. I've found that if the migraine is making me nauseous then making myself sick speeds up the recovery too.
i never suffer from migraines or headaches but lately i have been having a tight pain across my forehad that i just want to rub awaywith a claw hammer and pain in one side of my neck!!!
i dread to think what a real migraine is like as this is bad enough, my sympathies, hope it gets better soon.

Well if there's an orderly queue forming I think I'll just try and elbow my way to the front.

Hi people,
Just an update for you.
Wednesday was a migriane/headache free day for me thank goodness!!
Woke at 4am this morning with a full blown attack, got up and took two ibruprofen tabs, By 6am was starting to ease and woke my partner as it was time for him to get up for work and I crawled back into bed and dozed till 8am when my head was banging again.
Got up and took two more ibruprofen tabs. By 9am no change and took Imigran recovery.
By 9:30 there was still no change, so dragged some clothes on and went to the Drs, still in my sliipers, fortunatley the Drs is only a few doors down from my house. Saw the receptionist and asked if I could have an appointment, and she siad "My god you look awful do you want to see someone now?"
After about two mins I was called into see the Dr, sat down and just sobbed and sobbed and tried to explain between the tears and the snotty nose just how bad I was.
She has now given me some stronger painkillers, advised me to stop taking the Ibruprofen and given me some Propananlol, which should help stop the migraines occuring in the first place. Have to go back if there is no change. Went to the chemist and handed over the prescription & sat down, before I collapsed.
5 mins later I was given the tabs and was aked if I was alright as I looked so ill. Said I was just having a migraine attack and she said that she would call me a taxi to get home, for which I thanked her for, but declined as I only live 2 mins walk away anyway.
So I've taken the painkillers and the propanonlol and FINALLY after seven hours things are starting to ease (it's now 11:15), still feel dizzy and queasy, but least the migraine seems to be easing. Actually typing this out seems to help as it gives me something to concentrate on other than my head.
Hopefully should be better by this afternoon as I am supposed to be going to a wedding recption!!!!!!!!!!!
Ho hum!!
Cheers everyone.
