Bravely donning my posting boots and red cape, and coming to the aid of BIoke who is trying to lighten up the forum, i thought I's post some random monday morning blether!!
Have you ever read someones username, and mis read it in your head....and then it sticks, or mis pronounced their username until you have met them in person and heard its pronounced a completely different way??
this isnt transferring well from my head, in which it sounded a fairly fun thread....to the screen, on which it sounds like I'm yet to have my morning meds!!
will try and give an example......
There was a member on here a year or two back who was called Helnheaven.....for months i read it, and called her Hiney-heaven....backed up by the fact her avatar was of her butt!!
BIoke....whenever I read his name....in my head its pronounced By-okey (to rhyme with hokey cokey) even after being told its bloke....i still call him By-okey (sorry hun lol )
I was on the site for almost a year I think, before i ever noticed the D in the middle of freckleDbird....I'd always read it as frecklebird...in fact I remember asking her when she added the D, to be told it had always been there.
and anais.....in my head I read it as 'annis' but its has also been 'annay' and 'an-eye-ees' and Im still not sure which one (if indeed any) it is
im sure there must be others, but has anyone else done this...and maybe we can be corrected and shown the error of our ways whip :rascal:
oh i forgot, I once saw random orbit referred to as Rollmop....from the combination of the initials of his last 2 user names random orbit and london plaything - RO/LP so thats usually what pops into my head.

and that, after he was particularly nice to you the other day..
Yes, if you get this sort of thing wrong, the old incorrect name still sticks in your mind even after you realize. Also, I think that Avatars can be "read" wrongly too.
Plim
i always thought tune essance was tuna essance no idea why but whislt having a frank of views one time i said "Tuna dear boy" to have it promtly pointed out it was tune not tuna oh did i feel a fool and appologised promptly in fact i actually think my mistake was a good thing as it made for some giggles which rapidly diffused the whole thing and in fact turns out i kinda like ole tuna boy he is a decent sole :giggle:
Our name gets mis-pronounced regularly and has been anything from Moad, Moby, and to my personal fav Moan (makes me wonder if they have actually heard me  ) but usually we just get shortened to Mo which is fine and to be honest in chat we answer to most things :swingingchair:
is it moab (as in moan with a B on the end) or Mow-abb, as i read it redface

Its pronounced like Fannies but without the F wink So your first is correct. I answer to owt tho :lol2:

The second one is the way we have always said it so your reading it right :-D
People often misread our name as Sugar-n-PORN instead of POM ... not that it's all that inappropriate mind you. wink

now has nose pressed right up against the screen to double check....and as you say...its fits so I never even had that in my list of possible mistakes

i've missread usernames before, especially the long ones that are all joined up (as exampled already in here) but something i am really bad at it avatars.
i think it was calista (could be wrong) who had a pic of (maybe herself) a woman on her side i thing in a basque type thing in black and white. once i realised what i was looking at it was a lovely avatar. but for ages i kept thinking it looked like a grasshopper.....sorry (if i got the wrong person, and for the thought).
i often get to a stage where i can bare it nolonger and have to just ask.
