missing in action... presumed alive.

On the back of the rant that has been going on in the Steam room, about pm's being sent from someone who left the site and then sent a pm unexpectedly, I would like to nick that idea, officially, and turn it on its head.
So. A few weeks ago I was looking at the list of members during the "who's in your threesome" thread. And I noticed someone on the list who I had not seen posting for ages.... I checked by clicking on their name, found "all post" and sure enough it had been months..
So i clicked on the pm button and typed off a quick ... Hiya, aint seen you in ages, type of 2 line pm.
Bugger me.. got a pm back! This person hadn't been on SH for months, but the "pm notification" popped up in her email tray. So she was nosey and took a look... and replied.
Don't think from what she said though that she'll be back redface

.... but it was nice to catch up with her again.
So. Kind of like Dawns "pm a stranger" thread, but not a stranger, an old forum buddy... just someone you remember from a while back and have noticed missing. You never know... they might just reply. If they do, flag it up here with any details you want..
Now all i need is for Happy Cats to piss off for a couple of months (or 6) ....and I'll pm him!

Posting as someone who can disappear from the site for a few days at a time (mainly weekdays), I welcome it. Friendly missing-you/how-are-you PMs are good. Ok, so it's not quite the same as not coming on for weeks/months but it's the same point.

Postie - interesting idea but I think it has been going on for a while anyway - I gather that some people PM others who have not posted much in a while - just to see if they have been banned or not. It's happened to me...and I hear it has happened to others. Let's face it - if you aren't banned you will check your PMs out of sheer curiosity, whether you post a lot or not. It's easy to spot these nosey ones - cos they don't reply to the PM you send them back - seems once they know you are still active they are not as concerned as they appeared in the first PM. rolleyes

I was merely telling Bushwhackers how she was, not arguing her ban.
After all - it's the MODS who decide who stays and who goes, isn't it? It's not really up to us, is it, if we think it is VALID or not.

What a lovely idea... as someone who dissappeared for good reason for about 9 months and has just come back I have been trying to say hello to people who may or may not remember that they ever spoke to me.
I am sure that a few messages got binned on the basis of crazy wierdo PM'ing me out of the blue.. but thats fine, you can't expect to pick something up where you left off after neglecting it for 9 months!
BTW I did have a few people check I was ok... and say hello. But then I also posted on the forum that I had a GF and explained why I would be away. And since I came back I have been explaining the reverse redface

So hello, PM's to people I forgot about, and my how things change yet stay the same.

We'll I for one am not going to lose any sleep whatsoever about Libra being banned, it was long overdue in my opinion.
Whether you siad it was valid or not, I don't rightly care... but if she is "busy" on another site, it wont be long before she starts pissing people off there too with her high and mighty attitude....

I was replying to wishmasters very rapid response to my post - Libra Love doesnt know herself why she was banned, so I was surprised that he did, and found his post very unecessary and irrelevant to the thread.
