O goodie! say`s I - I`ve got a PM!
According to the e-mail received today (Mon 7th), timed at
But, Loh! when I checked my In-Box there was nothing there. Nothing other than the PM I received on the 3rd Nov` welcoming me to the site after I`d registered ... for which I`d already received - and deleted e-mail notification on the 3rd.
Bit of a mystery - bit of diaappointment too - never mind eh! :cry:

If somebody sends you a PM you'll get the email. If they later decide to change their mind and delete the PM from their outbox before you've read it then when you log on to check it won't be there.

switch off your email warning in your profile. seems like a great idea at first, then you get into a PM conversation with someone and find 50 new emails waiting for you telling you you've just had a PM conversation with someone :doh:

Bloody annoying when that happens though! It has me thinking for ages why someone would send me something and then decide to unsend it, if you get what I mean.

That was the first thing that went through my mind when I heard about this phenomenon (not had it happen to me yet, probably because I don't get many PMs). I imagine that the PMs end up in some well hidden repository accessable only to those with mod keys, or possibly only the BBD himself.

Just a quickie for clarification. PM's, Private Messages, cannot be read by the Mods at all.

Send 'em a PM - the system sends an email to tell them they have a PM - you delete the PM from your out box as soon as it's sent.
They get the email, log in to read PM - ha-hah! --- no PM!

I discovered a variation on this theme over the weekend.
Usually when you send a PM it resides in yer Outbox until the recipient opens it and then it transfers to yer Sentbox - right? Simple so far.
Well I sent two over the weekend which disappeared altogther. On enquiring, I was told this could happen if the recipient deleted the PM without reading it :shock: :shock: :shock: To say the bottom fell out of me world was a bit of an understatement - I thought reading me PMs can't be that much of an abhorrent experience!!!
It turned out that they had been transferred to the recipients Saved Box ready for later - what a relief! :lol:
I was starting to check me armpits fer foul smells and things!!

I was PMming to ask this member for their email address, then Reese told me he already had this persons email address.
I deleted the PM.
Just so you know, sometimes there are non-alcohol related reasons.
maybe not drink related - but surely halucinagenics are involved somewhere
