woke up to the sound of the smoke alarm,and a little voice saying to his 15 year old brother`how do you set the frying pan out`?
never shot out of bed so fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine are all in bed lol - got my cards and pressies last night as teenagers are lazy buggers lol so trying to think what to do today so I dont sit on here all day lol feel like doing something just cant think what - sad or what :shock: :shock: lol

Well i didn't get any breakfast this morning.....my wife decided to stay in bed and watch her dvd boxset of desperate housewifes....mumbling on about something to do with it being mothers day and all that.....so me and the kids had to have crisps and chocolate instead! rolleyes

I was woken at with a 9 year old climbing up for a hug, closely followed by his twin brother and the eldest plonking himself on the bottom of the bed. I had cards, pressies and a cuppa.
Ian did most of the work for the sunday lunch where my Mum and I have had the odd tipple and demolished most of a box of after eights drinkies

Perfect after the week I've had and I can even put up with the visit to Ians parents in a bit!

Last night our 10 yr old daughter warned me to stay in bed this morning. Looking forward to brekkie in bed I clock watched till this morning. Decided to get up, put the kettle on & she came downstairs bleery eyed as she'd just woke up. "Can i have a cup of tea please mum?"
"Ok"
Bless, it took her till for her to remember it was mothers day!
Didn't get brekkie in bed but got a chunk of cheese between some bread for an early dinner!! ( think some call it a cheese sandwich) lol

The whole greetings card thing has spiraled out of all proportion, we still do the "cook a nice meal" thing for eachother, but buying overpriced cards? nah.
Flowers is the other thing, wouldn't buy them if you put a gun to my heat. in our local florist it goes something like this.

mothers day / valantines / other occasions ="
yeah right, I might have been born, but it wasn't yestetrday rolleyes

Totally agree. The price of flowers gets hoiked up just before Mother's Day/Valentine's etc for no apparent reason other than making more money out of us mugs. However, I did get a very nice bunch for my Mum in Tesco which didn't cost the earth then took her for lunch in a chinese restaurant which did :roll:

our little`un made his card @ school.....so didnt cost a penny.....and he was really happy...big grin on his face when he said happy mothers day i made this 4 u.........
got a stash of all their made cards.... biggrin

and its probably the only day in the year when i get 1/2 a chance of breakfast in bed...anniversaries birthdays etc always seem to be in the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO HANDS OFF MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
