Last night our 10 yr old daughter warned me to stay in bed this morning. Looking forward to brekkie in bed I clock watched till this morning. Decided to get up, put the kettle on & she came downstairs bleery eyed as she'd just woke up. "Can i have a cup of tea please mum?"
"Ok"
Bless, it took her till for her to remember it was mothers day!
Didn't get brekkie in bed but got a chunk of cheese between some bread for an early dinner!! ( think some call it a cheese sandwich)

Call us a miserable pair of buggers we just dont subscribe to any of these Mother/father days. I know my kids love me but the whole thing about these days IMHO is to help the greetings card industry forecast demand in a cynical attempt to raise profits.
I our home we spontaniously buy gifts or spring surprises throughout the year. Makes for a less programmed event. and one is not lumbered with "having" to buy gifts because everyone else does.
Baaaaaa humbug!
