what makes you decide to go and watch a movie???..is it the actors in it or the director that directed it or the writer that wrote it..or could it be the reviews it's received,or did a friend go and see it and recommend it to you,or was it the story line that interested you.......is there any films out at the min that you would go see again or was it overhyped and was totally crap.
for my two penny worth,i heard war of the worlds(tom cruise) was crap, went to see it(open minded)and thoroughly enjoyed it,on the other hand mrs c went to see moulin rouge(highly recommened)and hated it...she also went to see jurassic park because steven speilberg directed it and was told you have to see did and loved it.(not to sure bout the follow ups tho)
Just going to prove that what one person likes another person hates and visa versa..
the poster and the strapline...
Im a sucker for a good poster!
but dont do cinema, cant think why, must change that, and usually wait for dvd, if memory lasts that long.
lp
Never go by the reviews - if you fancy it give it a go. I tend to go for directors or actors I like or just a great story.
Mind you I like all that arty foreign stuff - subtitles y'know.
Cannon & Ball "The Boys in Blue". Comedy classic -check it out.
Arf!
Hot Fuzz looks hilarious....I thought Shawn of the Dead was pretty good aswell.
The Departed, Blood Diamond and Last King of Scotland are thebest films ive seen recently.
Always try and pick a film that will make use of the cinema like at the moment we want to see Mr Bean goes on holiday but may as well see that on DVD. Maybe Sunshine is a film we will go to the cinema to see.
Cheers
we go to the cinema once or twice aweek....have a cinema subscription..i pay a month and can see as many as i like....after sex...the cinema is my next favourite pastime.
Its got to have a good plot line for me (mr SRNE) but for miss SRNE a hunky male lead usually does the trick, we generally like different films so one of us has to bear with it for the others sake, but we know when its a really good movie cos we both really like it, the last samurai is one such, a hunky male lead for the missus, a good story line and some great action for me, an some other bits in the middle for both!!
we tend to find tho that really good trailers tend to have all the best bits from the film in them and when u go to see them the rest is fairly poor and only the bits you saw on the trailer are any good! or is that just us??
I lived almost next door to a cinema for a while. I often went there on the cheap nights. It became a habit, as I didn't mind what film they showed. It was easier to fall into the whole hype and hunger thing, because the cinema was next door and cheap. So I was happy to believe in the trailers and look forward to the next film. Nowadays I rarely get to see a new movie on screen.
