I think MP's should have to be subjected to Polygraph tests on public TV to find out if they believe the shite they spout. What say you?

Here in the USA the same applies...it doesn't seem to bother the recently arrested governor of Illinois (on corruption charges) much of a sleepless night

Lost, if MPs started telling the truth, I doubt we'd ever elect a government made up of them again. Seems of late that our government is more concerned with headlines in the press that pander to the 'Something must be done' brigade, whether or not the something that must be done makes any sense whatsoever in the real world we live in, or stands a chance of actually achieving anything. Still, s'pose they have to justify 4 years salary between jobs somehow. ;)

haveing worked closely with an MP some years back....let me tell you 99% are extremely hard working people. The MP I used to work with had very few evenings to himself...he worked for the good of the people. Most MP's could get better paid jobs in commerce and industry. Maybe ask your local MP if you can spend a day with him.....you will be amazed at how much they do and maybe you won't be so quick to jump on their backs.

And this has what relevance to the propensity of MPs to bullshit and lie?
They may indeed work hard and they no doubt start out with good intentions, but sooner or later the ol' politician syndrome soon kicks in.
And in case you are wondering, a personal friend of mine is also an MP. I like the guy a lot, but when he's out there in public...
I still think that people who want to be politicians are the wrong people for the job.

I share the same view there peanut . I must confess I have thought about entering politics just to shake the bastards up :twisted:
But then I talk myself out of it by reminding my self I could become one of them . :shock:

My brother recently became a local councillor - ooo the shame!!!!!!!
Seriously - the local guys do seem to genuinely want to make a difference and often do. But if they get within a sniff of Westminster they are in so many pockets they can't lie straight in their beds anymore.
