My Big Fat Greek* Ass (And other compliments)

* Ok, so it's not exactly Greek, but it's got a Greek suntan so for the purposes of the thread title, thats close enough.
Last night, on our second ever club visit :scared:, I was unfortunate enough to recieve a couple of compliments. Yup, unfortunate.
The two gents in question were both from cultures which value the more "upholstered" look. Now I like, and am comfortable with my curves. However, to have someone flip you over & say "mmm, let me see that big fat ass" comes as a bit of a shock to a western woman! :shock:
It was obviously not meant as a derogatory comment- Or I would have followed through with my "dead man walking" quip (OK, he was about 7'2 and had the kind of build that causes partial eclipses- but I was very close to his nuts.)
Guy # 2 made similar comments, although by the end of it he turned into an annoying prick, so I won't go there rolleyes

And to cap it all- there was another guy who was virtually "worshipping" my arse- this, by the way really weirded me out :shock:
Guy #1, with whom a great time was had (mainly coz we laughed so much- theres another story to be had there) was stumbled upon in the bar at the end of the evening. I picked up a stick of celery, and said "look, now I have a complex!" which provoked a conversation about how he'd meant it as a compliment, and how big butts were coming into fashion again. We parted friends. I let him live.
Anyway, Im not really sure where Im going with this, other than to ask if anyone else has ever been on the recieving end of a "compliment" of this type? Luckily, I have the hide (and the ass, seemingly) of a Rhino, so apart from the occasional glance in the mirror today coupled with the odd "it's not that fat, is it?" comment, I'll live to fight another day.
Are there any other examples of cultural differences you've seen? Im waffling. I'll shaddup & let you ponder............
However- I dont think the word "fat" should ever, ever find it's way into a compliment :giggle:

as some of you may had read about how I'm feeling at the min- it got worse today walking through the supermarket when I bumped into a friend I'd not seen since last year.
'well pregnancy deffinatly suits you, you look blooming :shock:

Look my mother and her sister told me I had a fat arse when I was only 14 ffs :shock: so I just accept the fact now that I have a big ... well enormous backside. See my profile pic and you get a good view of it. I have always found it an ass-et lol

and am proud of it ... even got its own designer mark cool

Be proud of your fat ass WW ... men will love you for it.

Winchy, I cannot believe you could have put on that much weight in the time you were away hun!... even with a few pounds on you'll still be beautiful, stop cutting yourself up about it and enjoy your newer curves kiss

I was on the receiving end of a fat 'compliment' once and was not happy. We had a locum worker in at work and I was in a vile grumpy horrible mood. He decided that shouting loudly hey don't be sad you look fat today would cheer me up. I responded with a pardon and a killer glare in his direction whilst he was explaining that he meant fat with a ph phat. It was gently pointed out to him by a colleague that i was in the throes of PMT and calling me fat was not going to help biggrin

Being a woman of the LARGER proportions I often get 'little comments'... why do people think that if your not a 'perfect 10' its ok to comment??? :shock:
Whilst I realise that alot of men like the larger ladies, with a passion in some cases, it also grates me that just cos we're not a supermodel doesn't mean we're all comfortable it being mentioned, especially in the throws of fun or passion!!! rolleyes

Some of us are large due to medical conditions some of us cos we wanna be... but have some sensitivity guys.(n gals at times) Under however many layers of skin n padding we have is still a normal human being with thoughts, feeling n a sex drive that needs to be fulfilled... redface

Oooh Winchy, how weird! But as you say they appreciate curvy figures so it was a compliment just delivered in a way other than we are used to.
My only experience of other "cultures" was a Frenchman at a club, he didn't look atall French and didn't speak much but when he moaned en francais it tipped me over the edge lol

Hmmm can't think off the top of my head if I've received any back-handed compliments that have upset me.
The only one that springs to mind is about 7 years ago I was being persued by a rather nice lad. He was very funny and we had been social friends for about 6 months.
To cut a boring story short, he phoned one night to say he was just around the corner and could he come over "Just for a chat, nothing more!".
Anyway he laughed me into bed and we were having a nice time, then as I was astride him on top he says "Corrr with tits like that you could do page 3!"
I don't know why this offended me, but it did. lol

As I said, luckily I can take it on the chin- but had I been of a different mindset I think I may have been mortified!
