You know this might be the first thread I've ever started. While I'm being narcissistic, is my new avatar worse or better than my old one (below)? I've tried to create a montage of bits of me and my life. Left out some things I wanted to put in for the moment, I'll see how the mood takes me or if this gets shunned first. I'm not all that fond of it but it's kinda interesting.
(the old one):
I've had it suggested I should just stick my bum on there...? Also wondered about an animated one cycling round a few images.
It was time for a change anyway.
I adore your new avatar!
Bloody fantastic!
Thankyou very much Vix! Appreciated.
Of course I spent wayyyy too much time making it (a good half-hour this evening hunting through my pics for appropriate bits and resizing, copying and pasting...).
It's rather abstract-cubist. That's a harsh mix, but it's different. And, like Radio 2, different... works.
As someone who does not have an avatar I say fair play to you for you efforts.
The problem is - although the image is indeed very artistic in a cubist sort of way - I for one have no idea what the individual pics. actually represent!!!
A case of I dont know about art but I know what I like?
Yeah, I like to be different on occasion, just for the sake of it. Following the herd and peer pressure gets so boring. Sometimes it just means coming out with really silly comments, or not caring what people think of me (within limits & in right company), having a laugh at myself, and not being pushed into anything I really don't want to do despite massive peer pressure. Suppose that's quite an independent streak in me.
Not a Radio 2 listener though lol
- that's the challenge. You gotta work out a) what they are, and b) what they mean. And... Artistic? I suck.. I got a G at GCSE. Unless that was just my painting skills leaving a lot to be desired.
(edit: fix typos, clearer wording)
It's good breezer. Very original and good use of colour. Well done that man!
Its really good Breezer..... shows that you have really put some thought into it and are letting people have an insight into yr mind.........

I think you've snuck a picture of it in anyway, haven't you!!!!
Let's play a game, like spot the ball, .... Spot Breezers bum!
I personally think "foxylady 123's" avatar is much better and must compliment you on such a fine arse wink
Manchester ish confused: give us a clue
Well I changed mine, and until I find a better one, here's one with me arse on it!
Rick biggrin
Yea as it happens I like it Breezer
now I've got you down as having an action shot in there, along with an eye, some clouds a bit of mesh and a car headlight. Plus somew other bits that I can't make out.
still adds up to something that looks o.k. in a quirky kinda way.
davej - quirky, yeah that's a word that's been used a few times to describe me or things I've done.
postie - the red ones are in there if you look hard enough (er twice actually cos I love them so much, but maybe with muted colours or in shadow)... Yes, I did sneak one of my bum in anyway, I meant I considered filling the whole avatar with it. If you're asking about the mesh, that's a recent thing with me on the fishnets (but always been something I love looking at when it's covering flesh).
foxylady123 - I can't compete with your arse. Sorry, it just beats mine hands down. With a bum that nice what else are you gonna put on the avatar rolleyes biggrin Agree totally, Sexalicious (like that username by the way). My mind is indeed full of rectangular bits however did you guess Foxy?!! lol Perhaps that's why I always liked logic and numbers and programming.
Thanks for all your good comments everyone, looks like it's a keeper cool It's definitely growing on me (pun/one-liner -bait set...)
......
Wheeeeeeeeeeee I'm all happy got my car back, in MOT'd, Serviced, Sorted order today after a considerable time spent SORN'd (declared off-road). And with quoted-happy insurance being cheaper than I dared imagine, I can afford to run it. Although I still probably have to sell it cos it'll still need other expensive things looking after too. Damn I need another software development job (C++, Unix - any offers? contract/full-time?). Plenty of experience. Afraid I didn't get the one I went to an interview for last week, for anyone who knew about that.
But who cares right now, gotta go for a drive... (sorry, anyone who knows me and knows what it is might begin to understand - everyone else will be telling me to calm down it's only a car).
I think I just spotted his bum, and what appears to me as a Car Headlight. This could turn into a very enlightening game.
By the way Breezer, a very interesting avatar.

Does the bum-pic part qualify me for entry into the next site best-bums compo (that almost became "next-best" bums as I was writing it lol don't want to win that)? It's a better pic than the one I think I might have posted before, although maybe not for the comp. Full size version available on request biggrin Errr or even on demand, 'cos it's one a couple o' me ads too (although anyone wishing to avoid 'personal' shots should avoid the o-bi-curious one)
I like it as well, Breezer. A sterling effort and I don't think anyone can accuse you of plagiarism.
I confess to knowing fark all about art, but I think your avatar is far better than anything that has recently won the Turner Prize. I am thinking of such "works of art" as the unmade bed, the cow in formaldehyde and not forgetting - the lights going on and off!
