At 8pm tonight i'm going to go into hospital ready for my operation the next day. I'm having my jaw moved so that it'll be in the correct position, its a bit too small and as a result its always annoyed me, i'm getting it sorted. So as of tomorrow i'll be unable to talk, eat without a straw or even open my mouth for about two weeks. I'll probably be in hospital until tuesday at the earliest.
'Bonne Chance!'
I bloody hate hospitals :scared: (something to do with a large yellow streak down my back!!) so anyone who goes in of their own free will is a far braver man than I!!
On a more positive note, I beleive that if you drink booze via a straw you get pissed quicker! - enjoy!!
Another thing- i cant find the right outfit for the hospital!!!!
Don't forget to take your slippers Drew.
Does this mean after your jaw has been moved, you will have an even bigger mouth?
You don't need to have an outfit....they'll give you a "lovely" gown when you get there. I've heard they are the height of fashion right now! :giggle:
Good luck Drew.

Right, outfit is sorted.
and underneath my gown i will be wearing a tshirt saying *i love my duvet* and quite possibily, the coolest boxers in the world.
Ooo forgot i would forget the t-shirt it'll get ruined with the prep
Well, i'm off, see you all when i'm out x
has he gone yet?.....and why does my post say when its
now it back to normal...
Oh and Drew if your reading this using the hospital's Internet cafe, remember to take your false teeth out before going down tomorrow just in case they forget to check.
I'm just feeling rather smug about the fact that i don't have to have an op on my jaw.
I'd been told some years ago that if my clicky jaw worsened and became painful or locked, I'd have to have it re-set. i was horrified.
Luckily my dentist has since told me that it's unlikely that will happen and a gumshield at night will help to prevent further symptoms.
I am likely to get arthritic pain eventually but I'll ahve to cross that bridge when i come to it.
Good Luck Drew. Hope all goes well for you.
