The date of 20th May 2003 is a little misleading ................ it's the date when the format of the forum was changed so that people had to register to be able to post ......... it's not the date that the site was started.
The site was running for several months before 20th May 2003 .......... there just wasn't a registration process to be able to post on it.

Appoarently, they already have told Steph - she's told the site that in her post.
I wasn't being picky. My point was: how can anyone know how accurate the points were when a fundamental error regarding something like length of membership was made? We don't know the whole story or the history of pms betwen Steph and admin, nor do we need to. Steph's not been banned or she wouldn't be posting. People have been banned for seemingly trivial stuff, who knows what is happening behind the scenes?

It is in no way profesional to hang dirty washing out so I will not get drawn into the details of doing that on this forum no matter how difficult a position that puts us in.
All I will say is that since we have taken over this site I HAVE NEVER banned one single member. We never removed any status from any MODs or OPs no matter how difficult things seemed at times. However there is the start of fresh beggining here, and this year it has felt like we have turned a corner however Admin needs to act in the best interests of ALL its members and not operate on the agendas of a few.

Myself and the other Mods know no more about this than you do!! All I know is what Steph posted in this thread.
We have askedwhat is going on, but as yet we have not had a reply.
At the time of posting this, Steph is not banned from the site (I have just checked) and is free to post replies to all your questions if she so wishes. I can't help thinking that there is more to this than meets the eye, as I have never known anyone being asked to leave the site. If someone has broken the AUP they are banned - we don't ask them!!! confused

I suspect we will have some answers tomorrow when the admin team start work, so until then I suggest we all calm down and wait. :shock: :shock: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

okay... my 2 penneth now....
I know that certain people have had misgivings about the direction the site was taking.....
it was actually me that said to steph about 10 days ago that if you don't like what is happening..... ask to have your stories removed from the site... after all, if you are not happy then why should the new owner make any money and use your writing to entice people into the site......
just a thought.... but when people asked to have their SH "hosted picture pages" removed.. there wasn't even a quibble..... so why when someone asked to have their personal stories removed has everything hit the fan???????

I don't know exactly what happened with Steph and its not my place to ask but i will say this!
She will be greatly missed by us to, she's a great person and became a good friend..

yes i read it and i get the impression its not the sort of thing a mod would do, but someone who owned the site could do whatever they like......

Well, what a surprise this all is :shock:
I don't know Steph personally, and I may not always have agreed with her opinions, but I would defend to the death her right to have them.
She was always there with a helpful post to newbies, and I'm sure there are a great many people on here who will miss her tremendously.

To be honest I think it's time for everyone to move on to another subject now...... Martin has posted on this thread and I doubt you will get anymore information from him or any of the other Admin. They DONT have to explain to anyone, not even the Mods and OP's as to why they have made this decision...
The Admin own the site and they dont have to give us any reasons as to why they ban anyone....
