Speaking as a naturist, and having had some wonderfull times on holiday at naturist camps, meeting very nice and interesting people, I cannot understand the amount of predjudice against we who prefer to go without clothes.
Why should it have to be practised behind high fences and gates like the secret serices?naturists are not perverts! but yet are ostracised and regarded as someone who is peculiar for preferring to go without clothes.

I understand what you are trying to say - however the gates and fences are there for our protection FROM perverts. Also - not everyone feels that naturism is natural and we should respect everyone's point of view on this. It would be grossly unfair of us to flaunt nudity infront of them and, more importantly, their children!
I totally agree with the decision that naturism should be kept to designated areas - for everyone's benefit!
Not all areas are fenced however - take the nudist beaches for example - the one I go to is on a standard beach - just in an area which is a little further to walk to. But once there it is lovely. Only occasionally spoilt by the 'Mere Cats' who stand on the top of the sandhills.

Just one observation, How many Meercats do you see in the wild that keep popping up with erections that they keep rubbing.

Now that made me laugh out loud. But it is so accurate!
I would find they antics amusing (not sexy I stress, amusing) at the beach but these idiots don't seem to care that most naturist/nudist beaches are family places. There are times and places for everything but a family nudist beach during the day is neither the place or the time. Some folk can't seperate nudism from porn.

I did once write to the naturist council but they were asking for donations before the'd even give me addresses of any club. So I only practice abroad on holiday. If anybody wants to pm me with the location of the nearest beaches from Manchester, i'd certainly pay them a visit this summer (if we get a decent summer0.

I lived remotely for a number of years and enjoyed being naked for much of the time. Sadly my partner does not share the ideal.

Sadly, naturism attracts the wrong kind of people, some think that it is all about sex, instead of the sheer joy of being in the open air without clothes.
I have practised it for many years, but being a divorcee and not knowing any ladies that could accept it, most clubs frown on single men, so I finally gave it up as a bad job.

Personally I think the term "naturism" is a misnomer. Nudism is a pastime that people enjoy, but it isn't "natural" for humans to go outdoors unclothed, in this or any other country. There are no predominantly nude societies anywhere on Earth, and for several very good reasons. I'm not knocking it, I'm just saying let's call a spade a spade.

I understand what you mean Ice - and I agree in essence. Most nudists, naturists are exhibitionists/voyeurs to a certain extent even though they would probably not like to admit it. Indeed, I can appreciate the naked human form on these beaches and it feels good to be looked at too
. BUT there is a distinct difference to being nude in public and being outwardly sexual in public (ie merecat reference). Naturists believe in the former only so feel happy to bring their children along. This is all I was trying to say, maybe I came over a bit too pious. Hugs, Alex x x

Having tried naturism abroad on holiday, I found it very relaxing. The trouble is that everytime the sun shines, I now want to take all my clothes off. Sadly there seems to be few places to do this. The only one I have found is Rio's in London, but its too much effort to go there. Does anyone know of any discreet locations in the Beds, MK area where one can strip off without fear of offending anyone?
