Nerve wrecking day

Im quite nervous today as Ive got a job interview this afternoon for a position that I realy want does anybody have any tips?
Or feel free to tell my about days that have made you nervous.
ooo job interviews :small-print:
read and re-read your application form, and the job spec/person spec if you have one - the interview questions are usually based on those as they're matching you to the criteria...cover your bases, have something to say on each point - and make sure you understand equal opportunties policy and what it will mean for your job.
what is it you're going for anyway?

Dont tell them youre engaged!
when i was a 'Yoof' i used to get all nervous and uptight in interviews and missed out on a few good jobs. as i got older my 'fuck it' attitude developed and i never failed to get any job i got interviewed for.
so relax, be yourself, be friendly and smile lots, think of some questions to ask them and don't be afraid to ask about the hours/pay/holidays & benefits etc. they may ask you why you should get the job so have a good answer and they may also ask what your weaknesses are so think of a good answer for this, nothing too negative but remember that it's something you are working hard to improve. show confidence but not arrogance yet keep the attitude of its their loss if they don't give you the job.
good luck and let us know when you get it

probably more 'scenario' questions then...what would you do if......how would you handle this...... check the company's policy if you can, and really impress them with your 'way things are done' insider knowledge! Failing that, stay calm, admit you're nervous if necessary - speak clearly and fluently as you would when dealing with a potential customer.........and know what it is you're gonna be selling/promoting.
don't be afraid to ask about the hours/pay/holidays & benefits etc. they may ask you why you should get the job so have a good answer

I wouldnt advise asking about holidays and benefits in your first interview to be honest - you're selling yourself to them, not looking for what you can get out of it... You can always call and ask later. What is it that you can offer their company??? If you're the sort of person who could sell snow to Eskimo's, say so! but be prepared to back your statement up with an example!
Best of luck anyway luv , finger crossed for you! kiss
Thanks darkfire I'll bear that in mind wink
Best thing you can do is relaxed, smile, make sure you know your CV inside out and the application form.
Take it easy throughout and be honest.
:P
Works for me every time lol or maybe it's the cheeky grin and freckles confused blink
and, ah a cracking suit goes a long way  suggest, black pinstripe, white crisp shirt, nice dark cherry red tie
I use to get caught out when the say
'have you anything you would like to ask us'
be prepared to ask something, i had checked out their web site before i went
and found they did a lot of charity work so dropped that into the conversation
it worked.
be comfident, sit up in the chair, speak crearly, dress correctly
i had a guy in suit and trainers once
and good luck

blimey, you're rarer than unicorns and single bi-fems
When I interview people, I always give them extra points if they bring along supporting evidence of their achievements and if they have noted the questions that they want to ask.
This shows planning and preparation skills.
Good luck and let us know how you get on?

Have you done your own homework on this Company? Do you know what its main markets are? Can you answer questions about its coverage and strategies? Look interested.... ask as many questions as you can... What are the Companys' policies? Is there a company car scheme? Are there incentives to be more pro-active? Anything really...... be alert, and smart.... dont forget yr shoes need polishing... i always look at peoples shoes.... lol
I wish you the best of luck... be relaxed and enjoy the interview process... they want to know about you as much as you want to know about the Company and the job......

I think it went quite well but this guy dosn't waste any time.
He flew through my cv asking on things he wanted to clarify, asked a bit about myself and the said what questions have i got for him?
So I asked my questions and then that was it interview concluded and upon conclusion he said he'll get back to me soon and I should feel free to call him if i need to.
Any interviewers out there that have the same get it done and no messing around personality of this guy want to help me make sense of it?
I had a really hard interview yesterday for a Market Researcher job. I know I can do the job and I'm an ideal candidate due to my training and knowledge of the organisationi but I just feel like the interview went so badly. The intreviewer didn' give me much eye contact but apparently he's like that with everyone. It just made me so unsure of myself....Good luck anyoen going through this at the mo, it's really hard on your self-esteem.

You should be fine I do market research for a company called millward brown and it was a breeze it should be the same for you because these jobs are open all the time because alot of students do them between going to uni just to drum up some pocket money
