New Chatroom - A Plea to the Developers

I see a completely new chatroom is being developed. Can I make a small cry to ask the developers not to forget that some of the SH members use Apple Macs (me included) and would very much appreciate it if the new chatrooms continue to be compatible with Mac software (post and pre the move to intel chips).
Some sites have chatrooms that Apple owners just can not use (Y4h00 being one of the main culprits, and as for Messenger on Mac - impossible to cam). confused
We're a minority I know but please don't exclude us. I'd miss the chatrooms.
Thanks. smile

Just posted a plea to the chatroom developers not to forget to code for Apple Mac Users too. Got me wondering how many here are on an Apple Mac.
I'm using a Mac and don't seem to have any trouble with the chatrooms except the sound always seems 'slowed down'.
Agree with you about Messenger not allowing Mac users to cam. I assume they will be updating it soon though.

As far as I'm aware the new versions of chat will allow everyone to continue to use them as before..
Updates on features and better server stability are the main issues for the owners and I doubt that the new version will hinder anyone with regards to being able to chat.. biggrin

And please do not forget me with my ZX81.

Lonni - current chatrooms work fine for me too (same trouble with sound though) - but have this concern that newly developed ones will not. Seen it happen elsewhere (for a site that shall remain nameless).
As for Messenger - I wouldn't hold your breath! :-)

I refuse to get involved in yet another hijack :gagged: innocent
Oh.. who else is on Linux????
I too have issues..... mainly with the fact that there is very little support for Linux in terms of Flash
There is GNASH & the macromedia.... ah haaaa i hear you say .. use macromedia flash like the rest of us... but .. grrr... i'm running a 64 bit operating system (AMD64) ooooo.... and so i cant use the flash installer..... well .. ok that is also not 100% true.. you can modify the installation script... however i dont have the x86 libraries...
god darn and dash
So would the other person using Linux... please step forward smile
Well.... while we're on the subject! Would the developers ever consider an option where you could use 'Flash' chat or just basic 'HTML' chat as Macromedia isn't supported on a home/work network/server. sad
Really... what is your set up?
*goes and has a nosy of the deconstructed ActionScript text*
Well.... with the fact that the servers are now hosted on RedHat Linux... mmmm i wonder what format the chatroom is stored as... or are the packets simply forwarded out to the people who are connected

I have a cracking solution to your problem..
Use something slightly more mainstream confused:
I agree with Steve up there ^^^^^^
My way round it is "Buy a computer"

Well .... hey.... here is a good one... you guys can pay
£60 for Windows
£110 for Office
and i'll download my operating system, office and just about every concievable programme out there for nothing... how about that smile
Oh.. and to top it off
I will...... NEVER... EVER.... get a virus..
(well.. ok ... there might one day be a virus.. but highly unlikely)
So all you guys with popups galour and a computer that slowly slow slows down frm the moment you buy it... think about the alternative.....

Flash is a program made by the company called Macromedia, so asking for Flash but not Macromedia is like trying to buy a Golf that isn't a Volkswagen. confused
HTML is the language all web pages are written in, but it's not possible to write any sort of chat program using just HTML.

You misunderstand me lol I own (and designed) two websites so I'm more than comfortable talking about HTML! I was saying that Macromedia (Flash) doesn't work proxy servers hence why we could have a more basic chatroom without Flash etc - ie one programmed with HTML/Java.
