Is there a potential market for a new swinging club in the East Midlands?
The area i have in mind is between Nottingham, and Derby close to junction 25 of the M1.
There is, 'Chameleons' in Birmingham, 'La Chambre' in Sheffield, and,' Liberation' near Lutterworth.
Nothing, however in Nottingham, or Derby that i know of. dunno
I have no experience of setting up, or running such an enterprise, but those who have may recognize a viable proposition in this location.
What do you think?

although in theory it is a good idea..
A few years back, I did a feasability study into something similar.. and found that it would be extremely difficult to set up due to the number of clubs locally, and various other things..
The question of geographical location of swinging clubs is complicated by the fact that many swingers and potential swingers (not all, but many) prefer to go to clubs which are nottoo near to where they live, for fear of suddenly bumping into neighbours, friends, or work colleagues in a club. So unlike most other businesses, there is no "catchment area" as such. But it's true, the Nottingham-Derby area doesn't seem to have any swinging clubs.
well if there was one in the notts/derby area i would go.... after all if you bump into someone you know in the clubs then they are there for the same reason

we agree
we would come lol
I don't mind a bit of a drive to get to a club. There are a couple of clubs in Leicester where I live. Neither of which do I go to - not because of the location or fear of bumping into people I know.... I just love the atmosphere of the clubs I do go to.
Location does not a good club make!
Having worked in the industry some time ago I remember there was a club in Notts which did well for a time then the News of the World did its thing and it got closed down. But at the present time i thinks Notts police have more pressing matter,
If you would like some help and advice let me know
Where abouts was that club in Nott's Tony, and how long ago was that as i can't remember it.
It must have been quite some time have moved on since then where swinging clubs are concerned so perhaps the time is now right for a new venture in the Nottingham /derby area.

The main problem with notts and derby areas is the fact that the council are a bunch of anal retentive prats who aer more worried about imposing their moral judgment than actually doing something progressive that may infact help and do some good, such as "tolerated zones." now found in other cities.
They only passed a licence for a true "adult" shop by accident, then had to go to court and were told that they were not there to stand in moral judgment, only practical, so couldnt revoke the licence, had they turned down the application at the begining then the shop probably wouldnt have bothered to go to court but by that time money had been invested in the property, ferbishments, etc.
Most "swingers" clubs are actually "health clubs" but the police and council turn a blind eye... im not sure if la-chambras claim to be the only licenced swingers club is strictly true in the way people think, ie its listed as a swingers club, but rather the fact that it has a drinks licence... Swingers clubs dont usually have drinks licences because they can then be closed under the disordlery house (i believe) rules. Potentially an owner could be done for living of imoral earnings (it doesnt just apply to pimping, renting a flat knowing the person was using it for imoral gain could get you done!) All that said, I believe that the recient criminal justice act and amendments allows a lot more freedom and trys to stear away from using words such as "moral," and instead clarify what and what is not concidered to be acceptable in defined law.
