New site good or bad?

What does everyone think about the new and re-vamped SH website?
I am finding that I am getting fewer replies and people who are interested. The old site was more successful for me and I think I preferred it.
I wonder what the reason was for changing it? Why does everything have to change all the time?

because if things didn't change they'ed stay as they are and I for one don't much fancy a dose of the plague which I'm guessing rates alongside tooth ache and stubbing your toe on the pain scale. I'm also guessing that waking up to find a mammoth has taken a dump on your lawn, is gonna piss me off far more than next doors cat does now.

I know what you mean. They gave me these "electric light bulbs" when my gas lamps worked so well for me. Said they'd be better, they did. Blooming things keep burning out though. Dashed progress! Bah! They'll be having horseless carriages next...

we like the changes, we think......they seem a lot more user freindly confused

....
but why do poeple say "we/ I are not a full member" thought this was all free, we haven't had to pay.....whats the crack

If you joined after the new site went live then you have unpaid and paid members. The unpaid members do not have full access to everything on the site. That explains some of the strange wording in the ads etc.

I would like to thank SH for making the site Far better. The search by distance and postcode addition has been a great help, also the new locals in your area on by Homepage is BRILLIANT!

Oh, poor you. That's life, deal with it. Nothing else you can do, unless you know somewhere else to go.

I do genuinely mean this in a friendly way and I have not been around much to get to know you frecklebird, but how long does it take for you to be nice to people? All other replies to this very reasonable query were fair and constructive.
I have just had a quick zoom through some of your past posts and it seems you don't show a great deal of warmth or respect for newbies here but are fine with your obvious buddies- just so I know. 1000 posts perhaps?
You seem a nice bloke, regularly contributing - I don't know why you need to be abrupt to some people and not others? Maybe with the number of posts you have done that you are fed up with the same questions week after week?
I personally find the site fine and dandy without noticing too much of a change in overall look and speed. But this kind of site is generally only as good as its members....

i for one likes the new s/h site only downer for me is the post codes ... am not to clued up as to where post codes relate to but naming the place gives an instant idea as to how far, just a small gripe !!!!!

To be honest it is the people on here that make the site what it is and I think you are all gggggreat. :thumbup:
However from a technical point of view I can appriciate the hard graft that has gone on behind the scenes to keep this place up and running over the last month or so and now most of the glitches have been Smashed out using the SH maintenance hammer things are getting a lot better. So a big thank's from little "old" me to all involved :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Cut and paste is the way forward saves any embarising spelling mistakes confused

erm can't say she's ever been abrupt to me . . .. feeling left out now! I want my rite of passage to be a real memeber of this site and if it menas bing abused by Freckled Bird then so be it!
