currently in the Scottish media ( scottish sun ,news of the world etc) there is an ongoing defammation of character case through the scottish courts involving a certain Scottish memeber of Parliament ( for Scottish Parliament -read White Elephant( costly White Elephant)) and his invovlement in three in a bed sex sessions and visits to Cupids in Manchester.
the case has been brought by the Scottish MSP against a certain Anvar Khan ( a journalist no less) who it seems puts her self about as some sort of sexual commentator.I believe she may have a book on the go.
in the court case it seems when offered a foursome she felt "un comfortable" and declined ( left the room) .
on a visit to Cupids she commented that "people were playing pool naked " ( the shock of it all, people were sitting around watching porn and eating popcorn whilst wearing nipple clamps ( the devils that they are) and that her partner and her could`nt get a drink at the bar because you have to bring your own ( the unorganised plebes) then shock upon shock her partner disappeared with the bar maid upstairs with the full approval of the womans husband ( what ever next ,what is the world coming to)her partner incidentally was the Scottish Msp.
So to my question -who has benefited from the exposure here lol The MSP , Anvar Khan ( book on the go) Cupids or the Scottish Parliament?
are you sure he disappeared upstairs with the barmaid? firstly the bar is on the top floor, secondly its very rare for the barmaids to play when they are working. You can get a non-alcoholic drink at the bar and most people wear towels when playing pool. And i have never had popcorn while watching porn there!!!! I am going to complain to the management!
Typical of a journalist though, gives some of the facts and then adjusts them to create a story!

I`m paraphrasing whats being said in the papers and of course journalist speak is never what actually happens
forget all that, I want popcorn!
Its all sensationalist bullshite in the aim of one upmanship and tabloid sales.
If she was a journo worth anything she'd have known it was a BYO alcohol policy, they have a strict naked, towel or lingere policy and dont have an upstairs from the bar area... cos that already is upstairs! rolleyes
Did they actually go or did they make it all up on some photos they saw once from the 1970's and filled the rest in with their own imaginations and fantasies?
If you're going to tell a tale at least make it interesting ffs. The truth of what actually happens at Cupids is probably more exciting than anything made up anyway. And in these case I think its a loose all round situation.... apart from the tabloid sales... they win.
The club loose out long term because the genuine couples / females / swingles stay away because they dont want to be mixing with the majority of dickheads who go to have a look just cos it was in the paper.
The Journo looses out because they are obviously shite at research
The politicians potentially loose out because their personal life is broadcast to everyone
The Scottish Parliament... well... I don't think they gain or loose anything but its another lever for any opposition to use against its members I guess. dunno
So I really don't see the point of the watered down kiss n tells, theyre just sooooo boring compared to the reality of a night out clubbing.
Popcorn all round! lol

Not upset me at all . smile
Used to be one of my favourite clubs did Cupids... shame... cos we won't be going back there for a while now.
Guess I just wish people would let folks get on with whatever they do in their private lives without it being a marker of what they are like in their professions. Private lives should be just that.... private IMHO.

I agree with little gem, private lives should be kept private. Except when (in a politicians case) the tell us about family values and then it becomes appropriate to examine if they practice what they preach. Also, journalists should fall into the same category. If they expose peoples "perversions" my feeling is, they better not have ever strayed off the straight and narrow themselves.
My personal opinion is, that the more loudly someone denounces something, the more likely it is that they have either done it themselves, or, given the opportunity would take it!!

here, here......Politicians and Journalists appear to be the new puritans.....but scratch beneath the surface and what???????

true. unless they're telling you to do one thing, and doing the exact opposite themselves, as in the whole tory back to basics family values fiasco, it matters not a jot.
but, if you deny something when you're caught with your pants down, and launch legal suits against those making the allegations, your position rapidly becomes untenable, and leaves you wide open to accusations of being a liar and a hypocrite, something we can't really tolerate in political leaders.
he's denied it as far as his legal suit goes, but admitted it to his party comrades. confused if he'd just kept his mouth shut and maintained a dignified silence, things might have been different?

neil x x x ;)
So where does that leave us teachers then? We have to 'teach' that sex should only happen in a loving, monogamous relationship and we aren't really encouraged to discuss gay/lesbian/bi relationships.
Does that mean that I am a hypocrite?

No... that just means you are bound by your circumstances and the National Curriculum. I'm sure if a child asked you about such matters you would be as honest as possible!

However, people who swear blind they feel/do one thing and are happy to preach to and criticise everyone else but are secretly doing the same thing are a different thing all together!

nope, it makes the DfES who give you these guidelines out to be complete muppets with their heads in the sand? hardly educational to try and limit sex education in a way that's so completely divorced from the real world, and the experiences of the kids you teach it to, i'd have thought? confused
as a teacher, you're constrained by the powers that be. as an MP, you are the powers that be, so you should at least try to maintain the standards you demand of everyone else?
neil x x x ;)
Absolutely agree with you both, Kissy and Neil.
I do try to be honest as I can be with the kids, with regard to gay/lesbian/bisexual relationships. Having said that, I would definitely not tell them anything about this lifestyle, nor most of my colleagues to be honest - it's not really any of their business.

Not only the torries who have done this neil. Your beloved labour party was the same over the combined vaccination issue, private education sectors being closed with the favour given to mainstream schooling etc... plenty of examples on all sides of the fence with that one.
'do as I say not as I do'
When it comes to sexual practices though... I really do think it shouldn't matter what you do in your private life.
FB... I'm going to use you as an example, if you dont mind, cos youve kindly admitted your profession and issues related to it.
Does the fact you may have swung make you any worse or better at your job?
NO! probably not, because it is not relevant to teaching. Plenty of professions aren't related or relevant to swinging... so why bother bringing it up? dunno
Titilation factor and the sales of tabloids is the reason (get the hints that I don't like tabloid newspapers yet!??? ;) ) all under the guise of doing us a national service by reporting it. confused If it was something more serious like at weekend they commit horrible acts of animal cruelty.... then that is some kind of service to report it cos that is a bit of a personality defect. However... I'm always drawn to the reminding thought that the German guy.... with the tash and big balck shiney boots whose name I will not mention for fear of envoking goodwins law.... he was a veggetarian, bike riding, t-totaller. So just shows you never really can tell I guess. :dunno:
Anyway.... rambling rantish kind of thing over and out! ;) lol
Whats wrong with this silly journalist? Its becoz of nosy people like her that I avoid going to clubs. What did she expect to find there?

Just wondering, if any of your colleagues or the LEA found out about you then would they have any real grounds to fire you? (even though you have broken no law)

He was alsoone of the first modern day advocates of the line that honest citizens cannot be trusted to own guns, a line that the Tory party, closley followed by the labour party found very easy to adopt in 1997, yet the latest news, and i quote " "

Just a quick pointer - we tend not to discuss religion or politics on here. Can we keep it off this thread, please?

agree that it happens?
Yeah, we all do it though don't we at some point or another.
Say if you've got kids for example... you want the best for them and so dont want them to make the same mistakes you made. Sometimes saying or hearing... dont do that, you'll regret it trust me... is like an open invitation to go and try things for yourself anyway.
Its the not in my back yard philosophy. Its ok to travel 50miles to go to a swinging club but heaven forbid if they stuck one around the corner from your house ? dunno And more to the point would you go to it if it were around the corner from your house?

following on from my thread of last week , with regard to a certain scottish politician and his alleged wayward ways: according to the trial transcripts numerous mentions have been made of the swingers club in Manchester . yes Cupids, variously referred to as sleazy, decrepit ,etc.
so does it still hold true No such thing as bad publicity?
