I hate to sound really untrendy (un cool, or unhip, or whatever the 'yoof' of today call it) but being a very ancient 37 the only people i have heard of in this thread have been Meatloaf and Noel Gallagher redface surprisedops:
I know of a fabulous group called Valleum that should be on at Glasto...thay are amazing!!

Nope, that’s what I always wear

Is your Granny aware of your cross-dressing tendancies?

for all those complaining about jay-z being at glasto...
I suppose he belongs there as much as Kylie.... yet I didn't hear a complaint about that when she was suppose to headline a couple of years ago......
actually the last couple of times I have been at glasto, the best acts I have seen were Rolf Harris.... and Chas and Dave..... and you wouldn't really call them "glasto" acts now......
smile :)

Sadly she has passed away,so my perversion is worse than you ever expected.
Dearest Members,
Just read your points & they are all great...even those I disagree with.
Thanks.

I'm sorry, not matter the provocation,I just can't bring myself to do the "I can breath through my ears joke"
Noel Gallagher is a dull uninspired controvertialist.
Jay-Z is a dull uninspired rapper
both are standing on the shoulders of giants.
Should Jay-Z be on the bill at Glastonbury? yes
Punk hip-hop/rap similar ? only in a very tenuous way, there are a few similarities but more huge differences.
Arguing about the relative merits of different genres/artists? pointless.
On matters of taste I am right and will always be right even if I change my mind.
P.S. The last statement goes for everything else too

Damn. It's true what they say, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it tell bad jokes.

Ooooh, are Five appearing too then? How very hip!
Give me Prince as a headliner anyday.
With Funkadelic warming up.
Please.
i agree with noel, jay-z has failed to sell out glastonbury which proves his point. the two years oasis headlined were sell outs within minutes of tickets going on sale! i personally don't like hip hop but do realise many others do...(mrs2 probably does but i avoid her music collection lol).
in my opinion they would have been better having jay-z headlining a minor stage and getting a more rocky group to headline... queen for example are making a come back... maybe sir paul would have been interested - perhaps to make back what he was forced to pay his money grabbing ex?

A rock group whose lead singer died or a pensioner, I think they were better with Jay-Z and I hate hip-hop.

If you're discussing the wanky boy band then, nooooooooooooooooooo.
But I've seen another band called 5ive. They're a duo, just guitar and drums playing instrumental doom/post metal. Absolutely awesome live band.
Hip hop isn't really a festival music. It doesn't lend itself to the huge crowd in an open air environment. Guitar bands are much more festival friendly. I'm not an Oasis fan, but they fit the Glastonbury idiom better than Jay-Z.

OH MY WORD!!! Now, having had the privilege to see both Prince and George Clinton and the P*Funk Allstars (although not on same bill!) I can categorically state that this would be the musical event of the milennia!!!
lol I would soooooooooooooooooooooooo be there with bells on!!
