died today aged 95 a sad loss to the world of comedy.
he was working up until 3 years ago i hope i go on for as long
Awwww yes fond memories of norman R.I.P.
R.I.P probably 1 of the funniest men to entertain us ever :upset:
RIP Norman, a legend. His olthy minutes but without a star of his time. I'll always think of Norman whenever I see Lee Evans on TV.
95 years old Good innings though bless him
Another Gentle man we shall never see the likes of again singing his
Marvellous marvellous man.
Met him once while working for his best friend & writer. Very nice guy although never really liked his films. Still sad loss
One of the greats of comedy gone forever.
The " new wave " of comedians just do not really do it for me, as a lot of their material is based on smut.
The likes of Wisdom did not need the smut, as a bit like Tommy Cooper, you only had to look at them to smile....now that is REAL comedy.
RIP.
I used to love his films, haven't seen one in yrs though! maybe now they may put some on.
he was so funny you knew what was going to happen but it was still fun
I heard this this morning and was very sad - but a good innings though.
I know it wasn't sophisticated humour, but as a child I loved his films. He was the underdog. The 'little man' with a heart of gold.
I hope they show a series of his films now. I think my children would love them.
R.I.P Norman.
Will
Exactly what I said yesterday....
I read his autobiography a few years ago, from someone that had such a hard start in life to become someone that gave so much happiness back to so many.
What an inspirational man and legend
RIP
I always liked the fact that he was such a celebrity in Albania of all places. Was treated like a superstar of the silver screen when he visited.
Simply a great, funny guy..RIP
You arrived, lifted our soles, made us laugh.
Never forgotten.
