No, David, I think you're right. A lot of southern girls seem reserved compared with northern ones, who seem more 'up for it'.I think what you mean is that Southern girls are more discerning :smug: In other words, they don't fling themselves at anything with a penis!! lol

Only joking - and being a tincy-wincy bit provocative. As someone who was born (and still lives) south of the Thames, I am undoubtedly a southerner and proud of it too. However, some of the coutnryside up north is absolutely breathtaking and the people are lovely (of course, I may be a little biased where Shropshire is concerned :inlove: ). Most of us are jealous of the freer spirit in the north. I used to think that it was the pace of life down here. No-one has time for anyone else. However, that doesn't really explain cities like Manchester, Leeds ( worship

Neil) etc. Mind you - London is DEFINITELY swinging :shock: .

No. I did really enjoy life in The Smoke. It's a brilliant, vibrant place. I've just found that northern girls take less chatting-up! Maybe I've just met ones with lower standards!

Time for me to get a bit controversial - but you can e-mail the poison pen letters to me after you read this.
Anything, north of Herts, Essex Bucks is " Northern " just as anything west of Surrey, Middlesex, West Sussex is " West Country " if in doubt shrink the boundries to follow the M25 .
If you have Northern Monkeys, it follows you should have Southern Fairies ( if worried about causing offence to the gay/bi/tg community please alter to Mockney Wanker )
Finally and importantly the most salient point of my ramble - north or south, we all live, work, play, fuck, whatever. All this north-south divide bollocks does is just that, divide. I do play the mockney wanker sometimes, but got a lot of love for northerners AND southerners.
Ok rant over - start the joking again after we unite against Europe!

I fall into the Northern category because although I live in the Midlands I was forcibly transplanted by my ex and ended up staying.
I'm talking generally here, I know there are exceptions but when I was living at home if I was out and bloke fancied me or vice versa we'd do something about it. Down here they stare at you uncertainly and don't know what to do!

Just one example of the diference - I was in a local cafe this morning, wearing a smart mini skirt, shirt and boots, on my way to work. A guy started having a very good (and obvious) look at my legs so I caught his eye and smiled a few times. Any Northern guy worth his salt would have come over and chatted to me, said hi, had a laugh and found out if it was going anywhere. But he decided to carry on watching me and did nothing. So nothing came of it.

Which I guess makes him like me; a genuine Northerner but with Southern responses confused

(especially if I'm ever going to be back in the same place again).
If I move down South, of course, I'd blend in better but would I have to start to talk like they do in Eastenders rather than Corrie??
