It's just that... on the one hand we are saying that people aren't posting like they used to, especially newbies, and here's a young guy who's got something to say on a lot of subjects, and starts many interesting/contentious threads, and is, (albeit gently from our point of view) being ribbed.
I do know that no one means to hurt anyone, and maybe I'm being over sensitive, but that's my two pennarth anyway.

I agree with your post - wouldnt it be nice if when a new person first started posting like at a munch or a social there was a handholder to comment in a very 'positive' way for the contributors first few posts just until they got the feel of the place. Granted i have noticed a few ...and welcome to the forums. What i mean is more chatty and familiar just so that the poster has someone to return to within forum.
I love drew's posts as i do most peoples who contribute anything i can think about, chuckle to, cry or sympathise with and yes even those that i want to shout at. I admire his dedication to the art.
I think its hard to get a good contreversial topic going without getting slammed in the first few posts though that is more to do with writing style possibly
