Numpty thread

I have noticed a number of threads asking certain shall we say 'obvious answer' questions (who, me - no I wouldn't ask something THAT stupid would I? :giggle smile

and others bravely describing numpty events outside the forum.
How about we create a suitable image (what DOES a Numpty look like?) and award it every so often to the most Numptyish post. The recipient would have to put the image into their signature until it gets passed on to someone else. This would not be to embarrass anyone (much) but be purely for educational purposes and for the amusement of our neighbours.
By the way - it might be an idea how to include images in sigs since I for one don't know how to do it. Took me 3 days to find where to modify my sig at all. :giggle:

we get newbies all the time who are kinda expected to ask questions (just not the same 'chatroom one' every ten minutes banghead

) - and I think some of us actually like giving advice etc, it gives us a sense of worth in the big scheme of things (in terms of the site, and helping others find their feet)
Admittedly though, there is a great big list (the FAQ's) that we could be spared, if people who are new to swinging spent a little time doing some research/ reading threads/ talking to a mentor before jumping straight in feet first with the first question that springs to mind simply because they're eager to join in ............. i wouldnt like to dish the Numpty Award out, its a bit like saying 'you're new here but you should know everything before you even sign in, and branding them as such.
although i'll happily accept one for my techy abilities, or lack of lol

Excellent point about the newbies - they are in enough trouble when they find themeselves in here as it is :twisted:
So perhaps it should be saved for established members (say a year's membership or over 100 posts?) who should know better than to post anything without imagining what the other established members can make of it - not that anyone would make hay of a slight mis-spelling or euphimistic opportunity.

Im a bit of a newbie to this forum and I have to agree. Having read some of the things here I darent open my mouth to ask sometimes in case I look like a numpty!!! However, I have opened it on more than one occassion now so if Im due an award it will be recieved in the spirit its intended :lol:
This forum is great btw informative and also very funny, keep it up!
