Off topic - mini-rant to anyone in IT

Some of you may recall the grief I had last year with burglars.. they aren't my favourite type of people to put it mildly. evil

My opinions have now changed.... the b$%&#*ds stole most of my servers at work..... now that is a major hassle!!!!!

If I could just get my hands on the toe-rags...... but it'd have to wait till everything's rebuilt anyway! rolleyes

Think they can just bluddy help themselves to stuff while everyone else has to work for it :x

You can get nice exploding dye-bombs for the inside of servers - try and fit some into the next batch... Not much use on the ones you've lost though.... sad

We had a break-in to our server-room a while back - luckily all we lost was a couple of laptops which were kicking around rather than anything vital.
Hopefully they'll electrocute themelves trying to open the cases or something...... smile

I wonder if you'd get into trouble for accidently hooking up the Halon fire suppression system to the burglar alarm in the server room ? :twisted:

You might lol but there is a system on the market that will fog out your room in seconds. This stops anyone from seeing. It hooks up to the burgler alarm.
Either that or get a bloody big dog, with huge teeth and don't feed it much. If you get burglers then they get rid of them for you lol.

Yep, SmokeCloak - they use them in a lot of shops. The only problem with those is when they go off accidently, they're a nightmare to clear up - the smoke leaves a thin grey film over everything.
Not half as messy as a big dog with large teeth going off accidently though biggrin

Thanks for all the responses and apologies for not getting back sooner. Some of the suggestions are already being considered, as well as a few other things that should make a real difference! :twisted:
