I wonder if the op set out just to annoy me. dunno
Maybe a paranoid pill will help but...can't help thinking it.
Still I take anything on here with a very small pinch of salt. wink

Why would it annoy you ??
It was about irresponsible lunatic bikers that go to fast on public roads !!!!!
As you say ....that`s not you !!
It is obviously apparent from past conversations that you do not like bikers.......in general. Thats fine by me, I do not like 4x4 drivers much either, for the reasons I haver given previously.
Would you therefore like to clarify to us all what YOU deem to be " lunatic bikers "?
You made a statement that was a generlisation of bikers on the roads. I am unclear what YOU think is a bad biker? As I have already said, the vast majority of accident involving bikers are down to the fact other drivers, do not look out for them. Bollox about any speed issues, the clear facts are that in most cases the car driver is in the wrong, through negligence.
I should know I see the tossers out there everytime I go out on my bike, on their poxy mobiles, or their computers, or anything else they are doing, that is distracting them.
A biker cannot change a cd, or the radio station, or chat on his mobile etc.....
I took offence because people with attitudes like yours towards it seems just bikers, is a recipe for disaster, as negativity on the roads can lead car or 4x4 drivers, to set out to annoy bikers. I have seen it. Cut us up, pull out on us and in general a complete lack of awareness towards bikers.
33 years on the roads have taught me that to remain in one piece on the roads you have to think every other driver is a tosser, just there waiting to take me out.....so far I have remained in one piece. Not down to other drivers but by MY ability to spot tosser drivers with no regard whatsoever towards bikes, and the very people that have attitudes just like yours towards us.
Vrooooom vroooom.
The pleasant weather got me out on my vespa and I managed to live!
I think the following are facts.
Every sunny Sunday you can observe motorcycle riders exceeding the speed limit and driving dangerously on Wrotham hill.
Any commuter journey in or around London will lead to you observing car drivers being distracted by phones computers and radios.
Based on these facts I believe some motorcycle riders and some car drivers are irresponsible.

So long as that's just your opinion

banghead :banghead: :banghead:
I suggest you look at the facts or figures.
It is clear that most...not all bike accidents are caused by other drivers, who fail to see motorcycles. That fact in most instances has nothing to do with speed, or the idiot biker.
It is purely because they do not even bother to look out for bikers.....you never seen the bike awareness adverts on the telly?
When I have ridden abroad their attitudes towards bikers in completly different. They let you pass, they understand bikes as most abroad started out on scooters.
To be a biker these days not only have you got to have eyes in your arse, but take your life in your hands everytime you go out onto the roads.
It is NOT in a bikers interest to come off or have an accident. Just hitting the road at 30mph fucking hurts.
I bet the people with attitudes like this towards bikers have no concept of bikes at all. Still on a nice weekend day when the weather is nice, and the car driver is snug in his little box, listening to his cd, whilst talking on his moble, and then pulls out from a roundabout or a junction, and a bike is coming, and wham......the car driver will utter his usual bollocks " sorry did not see you "!!!!
No wonder.....it had nothing to do with the biker, only the other idiot driver too distracted to notice anything else other than who is ringing his mobile.
No wonder car drivers pull out on bikes and bikers die or get injured. It is apparent from this thread that bikers are a menance in some peoples eyes, and next they will be saying all bikes should be banned.
Well I have seen many many more bad car and lorry and coach and bus and taxi drivers on our roads, than bad bikers.
IF people are bothered about bikes but only drive cars, as the advert says " think bike ", next time you want to pull out of a junction, or just whizz across a roundabout without stopping, just think a bit more.
Maybe we could all learn something?
As a pair of long term bikers here who also drive cars all day to make our living we felt we had to comment.
People with an attitude towards fellow road users such as Flower should be made to attend some kind of course to modify behaviour.
To feel so upset by someone overtaking you is far from normal and must in itself make him unfit to be behind the wheel of anything.
Just a quick further note as we spotted someone said we bikers should all have a meet up some place. We actually already do meet up and also have regular chats on server 4 from 9pm wed & Sun nights so come join us

All the fact and figures in the world dont alter the fact that you are digging at certain people for their attitude towards bikers when you show exactly the same attitude towards caravaners....

I know exactly what you are talking about...you do not like bikers.
I am sure the police would be only happy to tell you where car drivers meet, to race their little Novas or their Corsas.
I saw a car today that was in the left hand lane on a roundabout, but really wanted to turn right. The bike in front of me was nearly wiped out this morning. See I can also give examples of how a car driver is a flipping idiot too!!

It is purely because they do not even bother to look out for bikers.....you never seen the bike awareness adverts on the telly? Yes and Ive seen the ones about riding defensively what does either demonstrate?
When I have ridden abroad their attitudes towards bikers in completly different. They let you pass, they understand bikes as most abroad started out on scooters. Bloody foreigners not killing our motorcyclists.
To be a biker these days not only have you got to have eyes in your arse, but take your life in your hands everytime you go out onto the roads. Fair point that applies to pedal cyclists pedestrians and other motorists I suppose.
It is NOT in a bikers interest to come off or have an accident. Just hitting the road at 30mph fucking hurts. Fair point.
Ignores the ranty bit, noticing the absence of facts or figures so far.
Well I have seen many many more bad car and lorry and coach and bus and taxi drivers on our roads, than bad bikers. I have to concede this I'm too busy on my mobile phone to keep a tally.

Prefer the quiche - is it broccoli and stilton by any chance?
If its salmon and asparagus quiche count me in.
Well it was gonna be brocolli and stilton but then I saw ben's post and like that idea better... although it makes your wee smell biggrin

I love asparagus but rarely eat it for precisely that reason sad
Less of the smelly wee jibes I resemble that remark.

Will Vicky mind if I steal the recipe and does anyone know what temperature the oven needs to be for salmon and asparagus quiche please?
I'm now multi-tasking and need to focus or one of my many sharp kitchen utensils could easily have a child's eye out.... surprised
