I am in shock...... The story as it goes:
My car is currently for sale on a few websites with my mobile phone number on it. I just had a call from someone really interested in buying the car, he asked a load of questions about it then wanted to come and see it tomorrow night so I gave him my address and name etc - all seemed genuine until he proceeded to tell me what he wanted to do to me - I can't repeat it - it's just too sick!
I'm an open minded person and can handle dirty talk but not from someone pretending to be interested in my car and then being quite abusive when I told him I wasn't interested!
I really do feel physically sick! I'm taking my mobile number off the website and of course he phoned on a with held number so I can't track him down to report him.
Does this go on a lot?
I've sold a few cars in my time and never had this kind of response.
What's really annoying is the fact that I thought my car would finally sell after 9 months of advertising! (I have to try to joke about it wink )
Sorry to hear that. Can you do 1471 and get his number? Or leave your number on answermachine only and call THEM back in future?
That's the exact reason that we don't let anyone post phone numbers on this site. Abuse.
Hope you feel better soon.

Perhaps you should report this to the Police, as a precaution.
aww hon, thats not good - but thats the drawback of the net - any weirdo can get online sad
you know where i am if you wanna chat hon
Ian kiss
I've been on the phone to my network provider to see if they can trace the number - but no such luck. To start with I had to repeat what he said to me 3 times because they couldn't understand my concerns then I was put on hold, then I had to detail the time the person called me and they said there is nothing they can do! I want to report it but I don't have any information.
As my car is on different sites I don't know which one the person got my number from. I'm taking my mobile number off and putting my home number on there where there is an answer machine on during the day. Seems the only way I can get round it!
I just hope he doesn't turn up here.... I'm sure he won't and if he does, my dad'll have something to say to him I'm sure! lol
why not put it in the paper???? erm........whats it called.....................ad mag i know this is the same thing but you probably will get genuine people calling you???
sorry to hear the news

i had a problem a few weeks ago by a girl who was calling up threatening my daughter, the police told me to call my phone provider and they can get number of 1471 call, so i did and they did and i reported her and her number to the police biggrin
I'm not sure if this is accurate, but the following site advises that you need to report the call to the police, before your mobile company can help.

At the moment you are probably having little success getting through the wall of customer service people, who may not be very well trained. The police hopefully will have direct contacts with people within your mobile phone company, who are familiar in dealing with this and might be able to supply the information. They are unlikely to give this jerks number to you as, despite the nature of the call I think it might still fall under data protection.
Although its a lot of hassle it might be worth pursuing this by going to the police as this guy is probably scaring other women out there.
Telephone networks will know someones CLI even if they chose to hide it from the person they are calling.
I used to work in telecoms regulation (although not this area) and the networks I dealt with had records of who had called numbers on their network.
