Oh Rats!!

What a laugh ive just had this afternoon, spent 10 mins, sitting and crying with laughter in my m8's car....all will be explained.....lol
We were out shopping and we got talking about aminals and pets, and how id always wanted a rat, after having many many types of animals as pets. So being the impulsive person he is, we ended up 30 mins later at Pet City, with him spending a fortune on me buying me a fabulous HUGE cage (remember i said huge in a mo) and two of the cutest rats lol

Well we get outside to his car............a convertible TWO seater BMW Z3.......with small boot rolleyes

. Well, we got it all in, the bottom half of cage over my legs, all the paraphernalia in the boot and the cage part over my HEAD redface

:roll: We spent 10 minutes sitting there, pissing ourselves, people walking past joining in with laughter, was a real rib acher! Then had to drive home the 20 minute journey in tears pmsl!! Just the funniest thing to have happened to me in ages.

Well they said they are both boys, but there was a sign up saying they cannot fully guarantee the sex of their animals confused

Thanks for the tip re: Rachel-Lane, Ive got a friend coming to stay on Friday whos bringing his snake, but his is of the trouser variety lol :rascal: 69position

Well I say to my m8 to take a piccie with his camera, but he couldnt stop laughing long enough and it was sooooooooooo embarassing, so we just fled the scene redface

Libra, they are lovely pets, very clean, friendly and social animals, they dont stand you up or dont call when they say they will, so much better pets than any male ive ever had :twisted: :giggle:
Ive already bonded with one, sitting on my shoulder, hidng under my pony tail, aawww biggrin

And Morbius, what can I say except that its not the first tme ive been in a cage smackbottom

meet mia my beautifull brazilian rainbow boa , so tame and gentle although she does try to break the odd finger when shes flexing her muscles , but dangle a dead rat in front her and she becomes the fastest thing on earth :twisted: rats beware :twisted:

shes just turned 3 yrs old i got her from as a baby 1 week old and was just under 10 inches a tiny little bracelet and wheighed minus nothing , shes now 5 ft and wheighs atleast 2 bags of sugarand is now a pair of boots and a handbag lol she should get to 7 ft hopefully in the daylight she has the most beautifull rainbows that shimmer all over her and i love her to bits and hopefully ill have her for agood 20 yrs yet smile

We have 2 corn snakes, a normal and a gorgeous amelanistic. They are almost 3 years old and both about 4.5 feet long. Think they should eventually be around 6 feet when fully grown.

amelanistic there the pink with the black pigment taken out ?? my first snake was an everglades rat snake , was really tempremental thumped its tail like a rattler but ive had alsorts from a big columbian red tail boa to royal pythons plus various lizzards i rescued two tokay gekkos from a minging pet shop once god there nasty they grew to a ft long and when they clamped onto my arm it took a good ten minutes before they let go, every time i went near their viv they would bark like crazy at me total nutters but ive always wanted a rainbow boa now i have mia biggrin

just need a nice high orange or red male for her now to make some babies .. a possible 25 babies at each you do the math ...thats a nose job for me wink

Yes our amel is a lovely pink colour with red eyes, she's gorgeous. It's awful how some reptiles are kept isn't it. confused

We were going to have a leopard gecko but were told that corn snakes are easier to look after and we hadn't had any reptiles before. We have a girl and a boy snake but not sure whether to let them mate as we don't know what we're doing with them :? The boy went off his food a while ago and was really agitated; shop owner told us it was because it was about their mating season.

if you have male and female in the same viv and with the same heat and lighting all yr round i doubt very much they would mate. they have to be kept seperate or they get use to each others sent and will loose attraction plus you need to fatten up the female so shes strong enough to go through hatching corns are really easy to bread and theres loads of info online for advice but corns are egg bearers so you need to look after the eggs aswell , mia is a boa so she gives birth to live which takes the hassle of incubating eggs but breading snakes is soo rewarding and waiting for them to break out of their shells or being born live is amazing , if you have a male and female have a go it,ll be well worth it and you get some pocket money for your efforts smile

They are in separate vivs anyway. Been told that the pet shop will buy any eggs, depending on time of year but will wait and maybe go for it when they're older.

yes always try and breed out of season corns are really popular great for kiddies so they sell like hot cakes but in season theres so many about the price can drop alot so always its always best to have newbies when theres a short suply wink

i have 5 rats at the moment and yes they are wounderful pets i dont care what people say about them as the people that say bad things about them no nothing about them i have been keeping rats for severeal years now and i love em they are part of the family,they are sweet and very cudderly and make great pets ,mine all know there name and comes when called and are very playful and will also lay with you for hours having cuddles biggrin

You think 5 is alot lol no way i know some one that has 30 rolleyes

the most we have had has been 8 ,they aint all together 3 boys,1girl(just lost her cage mate)and one other male.
