I tell you what - this Steam Room has caused more problems than it's worth.
It induces people to express views in more lurid terms than they would otherwise do and so upset other people. Before we had the Steam Room people use to have their altercations but they were dissipated and topic spcific and so could be controlled and moderated.
I have been temporarily banned for objecting to something OTT in the Steam Room when I certainly had not contravened the AUP. In fact - there were others, who should have known better, who did in fact contravene the AUP and who were not banned.
I've got to say I do not agree with Wishmaster's views and quite frankly he's been a bit prattish in the way he has persisted with an argument that he had no chance of winning - but that's all!
I hope that the temp ban was explained to him as being for his own good if that was the case - it wasn't to me.
I say ban the Steam Room. Let people raise threads as they see fit - controversial or not and they can be dealt with on their merits.
dino.......

Nah people in L.A. are either wierd or after yer wallet depending where in L.A. you are
As it goes, I've never actually found New Yorkers rude, nor Londoners come to that, it's just that maybe big city life makes 'em a bit more brash than everyone else
(written by a Londoner born and bred)

you are right.... NYC and London are both very down to earth.....
The thing with New York is that i don't think english people get the abuse that people from other parts of the states... you get a free pass and everyone loves the accent!!! heck people in new york will even smile for you......no one else gets that benefit!!!! that is why when i go back, try to keep the accent for as long as possible, so for the first 10 days i am fine, after that....... not so good!!!! smile :) :) :)
seriously though.... if you want rude people....visit paris, not nice and they have one hell of a superiority complex!!!

Please excuse my attempt at ironic humour. I thought a deliberately rude comment from a Londoner would be rather funny under the circumstances. My humble apologies for misjudging you enough to expect you to take it in the spirit in which it was meant.
shirren
to be honest it has not come across like this at all
if ice is joking and i have overreacted then fine i will apologise but to be honest being told to "fuck of"
there was no emoticons or any other comments that personally associate with ice posts.

Alcohol my dear lady. More people now go out solely to get as hammered as they can, and then lose control of themselves and their inhibitions.
I rarely go out on a night out nowadays, and if I do it's to Canal Street in Manchester as it's marginally quieter and safer. Best to go somewhere quiet, in a group or with a bloke for visual protection
my job invloves me talking to peps all over the uk and I find the rudest are from what we term "the mid north" that's leeds/manchester area with the nicest peps from the devon/cornwall area. Now thats not tarring every one with the same brush just me and my colleagues unscientific observations. biggrin
A lot of the things we here about as being antisocial etc. are habit forming. In that some people don't feel they have had a proper night out without a fight or a run in with the law. Which then becomes the thing they try to achieve each weekend, or day/night. Although the latest generation is usually portrayed as the worst, I thnk it stays about the same level throughout.

Quieter than what? I have rarely seen Canal Street quiet (marginally or otherwise ) unless its around am . When was you there, was it Christmas day? We were out on Canal Street last Monday night /Tuesday morning and it was certainly not quiet and that was a Monday. I go to the village at least once a week usually twice and the place rocks 24/7 Its probably the busiest place in Manchester. Certainly safe but hardly ever quiet.
Judy

I meant quieter in terms of violence and disturbances Judy. I've been out to Canal Street many times over the past 3 years and have always felt safe there, unlike other parts of Manchester on a friday night where I've never been so thankful to get home.

I would agree with you there tune. However its bloody ear deafeningly manic when Dargento, Leps and Staggy get together. The place rocks by default but positively vibrates like a 30 year old diesel engine when that lot hit Canal Street, Sassy keeps them in order though :P wink Just one of her special looks and everyone falls into order. Its a sexy look too, ......well, as sexy as it gets when she is in her erotic lesbian mode.
Can you imagine it, Village girls such as ...Sassy, blue and Little Gem, come on now, would you even think of taking on those three. They could scare the crap out of Bernard Manning. I love em to bits ....... would I dare not to, I know my place.
Judy

lets get 1 thing st8 if we can in the village lol no 1 keeps the leprechaun quiet the leprechaun is a law onto himself
