Now that the games have finished I feel we should all salute our guys and girls on their brilliant efforts and medals in these games.
The swimmer who won two golds and broke a world record to be our most successful swimmer. To all the others who worked so hard over the last four years.
Hats off to them all and their fantastic achievements, made me proud to be British which does not happen often. Three cheers to them all whether they won a medal or not, and raise a glass or two.
woo hoo!!! I agree drinkies totally outstanding!
when I was growing up my olympic heroes were Daley Thompson, Coe, Ovett and Cram, and Torville and Dean....nice to have some olympians that have done us proud again :bounce:

Especially since sport is seriously underfunded and under-recognised in the UK!
I haven't followed the Olympics for a while but 4th in the medals table after 3 huge nations is definitely a feat to have pride in!
I have to admit to not watching any of the Olympics to be honest...
Not sure why but it just hasn't grabbed my interest this time round dunno
Big respect to all the Olympians and what a result for Britain this time around!
There's been an Olympics? dunno
he was part of "Team GB" surely ?
oh and well done to all the team, whether or not they got a medal ..... lots of hard work went into it biggrin
well done to them all..... have been so proud of the entire team.... so many people have done personal bests which is all that you can ask for
Chris Hoy or Rebecca Adlington will be sports personality of the year without a doubt.. and for one of them to miss out would be a shame......

Sure aren't, and even when I did I never watched sport either.
I don't read newspapers or have any interest in current affairs either. It wasn't all that long ago I was surprised to find that Gordon Brown was PM redface

Dont mean to be arguementative but I started this thread for people to put positive comments on here about our olympic champions.
Not saying your comment was negative but would hope that if anyone wanted to post something, it would have been constructive and positive.

fantastic 16days of pure work of art with records broken everyday, but team GB has been outstanding for attaining 47medals the highest so far hope it will encourage kids to take on sport and field even a stronger team for 2012 games...
well done team GB,the 14yr old kid has the best attitude for sports!

That 14 year old will be brill in four years time for sure.
4th in the table for medals is just amazing. Hopefully kids will take up sports now and the powers that be encourage them both with money and attitudes.

Sorry 777 you are forgetting the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games that start on Saturday 6th September.
I have a friend out there hoping to bring A gold back.
These people should not be forgotten and an inspiration to all.
This guy I know had a swimming accident at the age of 23 while on holiday and was left paralised from the neck down, he went on to take up a sport and is out in China because of the determnation and sheer hard work not to mope around and feel sorry for himself. There are many like him out there, lets not forget them.
Good luck all!
Bye the way sparky these are not rich spoilt kids!
