Sentence has now been past, I understand they got off lightly.
The latest story is that airlines and tour operators should issue warning. Perhaps the airline would continue after the inflight safety demo, with hand signals and gestures.
While I am liberal, I think it is not British to force the issue and have sex not once but twice on the same beach after being warned.
Any comments?
they have actually been jailed for 3 monthes, fined £1000 each and deported. Fact is they had been at a drink all you can champagne party..all day. When you in another country you abide by the law...whatever that law may be. It seems the policeman when he caught them, was lient by just teling them to, pack it in and get off home. Instead they waited for him to go and started again. That shows total contempt for the law in my view. The also it seems they assulted him when arrested. I have no sympathy.
Isn't this the Country that cuts off thieves hands ffs..
He's lucky to come back with the offending digit still attached
And the sentence could have been worse -- they were not married and therefore committing adultery and there are countries in that area where she could have faced stoning to death !!!
I spent 2/3 weeks, it is safe and never had any trouble.
The public morality laws are just that public, so keep it inside. Not that I would get up to anything like that.
They knew what the laws were and stuck two fingers up to it. They get what they deserve.

Saw this on the lunchtime news - they admitted to being drunk only. Serves em right either way really! I'm sure they knew the score....
We went to Dubai a few weeks ago (during Ramadan). It was one of the best holidays I've ever had and loved the place and the people, who are all so proud of the city and so welcoming to westeners.
One thing you are obviously aware of is that it is a Muselim country and a dry state. As a tourist I was aware that I would not want to offend someone but my behavior in their country and we were cafeful to abide by their laws especially as it was during a religious festival. In the same way I would expect the same from anyone visiting this country.
I think this couple got off pretty lightly really considering they were warned once by a policeman and the fact that just being drunk in public is an offence.
They quite clearly knew the laws and chose to ignore them.
