Mark was faced with only two choices.
1) Close the site.
2) Sell it.
Perhaps we should all just put away the sackcloth and ashes and be thankful that he was not in a situation where he only had one choice.

Mark would want us to move forward and be positive.

I understand Mark's decision.....but..there was an Option 3 - I wonder if he thought of outsourcing this site to a third party..?
He could have retained control but outsourced the back office functions (development/ administration etc. etc.) to the current owners.....just a thought.

All I can say is thank you Mark for bringing us a wonderful site with wonderful people.
I can imagine that the admin for the site was getting too much and he has done the right thing for him and thats what matters. I am sure that if the new bosses get too big for thier boots there are some of us here that will be able to circumvent problems and make it a happy place to be as it is now.
I would like to personally thank Mark even if I have not met him, because I have met some lovely people from here that I wouldnt of otherwise been able to. So for that and that alone I think him from the bottom of my heart.

I can say just one thing (or maybe two ;) ). As many of you said before - this place is addictive and it's one and only in its kind... all yours reactions just simple and clearly show how amazing and great people all you are and how personal and close part of yours (and our) life is it. I think it's great Mark made it...and it's even greater each of you put a bit of yourselves to make this website as it is. And hopefully it will stay (thanks to Mark's choice) as wonderful as it was or even better
