when i logged in this morning i had an offline chat window come, but not from someone on my friends list.
I replied back but they are now offline and sent a friends request, but i now cant friend any record of that chat or the friend request and cant remember the profile name?
Also on looking at others profiles i cant see how they sent me an offline message in the first place, im confused!!!!
i not been on for a while and i know some changes have been made but this one has me stumped lol

There is no history/logs for IM chats or friend requests so if you can't remember the username all you can do is hope that they accept your request and/or message you again. (Sometimes searching for the part of the username you remember can work, but won't go into details here). Because they were offline when you IMed them they may not receive the IM you sent.
The way they IMed you even though they are not on your friends list is via your profile - there is a button showing your IM status just under your profile picture, and when that is green (ie. when user is online) anybody can use it (though when writing to non-friends it'll send a dialogue box asking for permission to contact, I am sure you got that). Not everybody has this button displayed on their profile though, it is a privacy option that you can change through Settings.

Can't see where the Im button is at the moment but I'm on mobile so probable not looking properly lol
I did find profile accidentally about 5 mins after I posted :haha:
